Sully is One Month Old

Our sweet Sullivan is one month old.  I can't believe she has been with us for a month already!  Time sure does fly by.  She is getting to be so big and is getting really good at holding her head up.  She has started to get her days and nights sorted out although she still loves to sleep all the time...until about 9:45pm...haha!

We spent the past week or so at Lake Rabun to celebrate the 4th of July with the Halters.  We had such a wonderful trip.  It is always fun to be at the lake but 4th of July is extra special.  The festivities include the Rabun Ramble Road Race (shout out to PJ and Eileen for representing the Halters this year), the Wooden Boat Parade and of course the fireworks!  I think it is safe to say Hudson enjoyed every minute of every day!

Red, White and Blue for the Boat Parade
We spent the week swimming, tubing, and playing with cousins!  Hudson is quite the daredevil and apparently has no fear.  She didn't hesitate to put on her life jacket and jump off the dock and slide down the slide!  She held her own with her three boy cousins and even got right in the mix when their friends came over to play!  She rode the dragon and the halfpipe and swam like a fish.
Hammock time
As you can see...she LOVED going off the slide into the lake!
Daredevil
Hudson also got to see her very first Lake Rabun Firework show and she LOVED it.  She kept asking for more after each boom.
Watching fireworks with Daddy
Sullivan enjoyed the lake as well.  She isn't quite old enough to swim or watch the fireworks but she took some good long naps on the dock and in the hammock!
Hammock Naps are best
Hudson bonded with her cousins and couldn't get enough of "P - Yay" or PJ as the rest of know him.  He was so sweet to Hudson.  He played with her and put up with her following him around everywhere.  "Char-yay" or Charlie, was very sweet too.
Flavor Ice...yummy
Three Generations
One of the best parts of the week was getting to spend a few days with MamMam.  I just love this picture...Hudson and my grandmother (who is 93 by the way) had a big time dancing, playing ring around the rosey and hanging out.  MamMam is such a trooper!
Dancing with MamMam
We also took some time to do some tubing on the halfpipe.  Hudson didn't love it...but she certainly wasn't scared.  She went on it more than once and both times she FELL ASLEEP!  I  mean who falls asleep while tubing!
Riding the Halfpipe
Cousins
We capped off the week by celebrating BooBoo's birthday (a little early) and playing a few rounds of family hide and seek!  Sullivan and I just watched but it was highly entertaining!  Especially when Tom tried to hide in the closet only to exclaim - "My feet are too big to fit in here".

I think it is safe to say we all had a wonderful time on vacation!
Successful week at the lake

Summer Time

It has been three weeks since little Sully joined our family and we have had a blast!  Granted...we are a bit sleep deprived...but it is totally worth it.

The Girls
Sully had her two week check up last week and she is doing great.  She was already back over her birth weight and now weighs 10 lbs, 15 oz.  She also grew 1.5 inches in just 2 weeks!  INSANE!  So she is now 21.5 inches long.  Just like her big sister, Sully is off the growth chart for weight and in the 95th percentile for height.  The doctor said she looks great and we don't go back until her two month visit so she can start getting her shots...no fun!
Clearly she is relaxed here at home
Hudson had her 20 month check up today and she too is thriving.  She broke the 3 foot mark and is already 36 1/4 inches tall.  She weighs almost 31 lbs and did great during her check up.  Her little dot is still way above the growth chart line as usual!

We have stayed busy the past few weeks with lots of outdoor play, pool time and even took a trip to the Zoo - thanks to SueSue for coming back up to help me out while Tom was out of town this week.

Hudson is going to daycare two times a week and she still loves it...in fact...she may love it a bit too much.  I picked her up last week only to find out that she KISSED a boy!  Just leaned over and smacked one on him!  Then the next day...she leaned over and planted one on her buddy across the street Caleb.  They were supposed to be running through the sprinkler but instead...they were smooching!  I am pretty sure Tom has the Convent on speed dial at this point!

Daddy and his girls
Hudson is still loving being a big sister.  She takes such good care of "Sullibee" and asking about her is usually the first thing out of her mouth when she wakes up and when I pick her up at school.  She gives her lots of hugs and kisses and even helps with dirty diapers.  We are so proud of her.

Hudson continues to crack us up everyday.  Her vocabulary is so big and it is scary how quickly she learns words...and how good she is at repeating words she hears...she is like a parrot!  Lately her favorite things are singing Wheels on the Bus - with hand motions - and of course dancing!  She still loves her hip hop music also!

We are headed to the lake next week for about 12 days and we are so excited.  Fun times with the cousins, Aunt Leens, Uncle Pace and SueSue and BooBoo plus we get to celebrate July 4th with all of our Greenville Halter Cousins.  I will make sure to take lots of pictures and Sully will even get to celebrate her one month birthday at the lake!  How fun!
Such a rough life...
As always here are some pictures from the past month:

Sullivan Louise Frericks

Sullivan Louise Frericks
As I'm sure most of you have heard, Sullivan Louise Frericks decided to make her entrance into the world 4 days early.  She was born on Saturday, June 2 at 8:44am.  Being born early certainly didn't affect her size at all.  She weighed 10 lbs, 12 oz and was 20 inches long!  Such a big girl!

Today we celebrated Sullivan turning one week old!  It has been a crazy sleepless week but that is to be expected.  She is a good baby and pretty low maintenance so far.  If we can just get the whole sleeping at night thing down we will be all set!
First Bath with help from Daddy and Big Sis!
Hudson is such a great big sister.  She calls her new baby "Sullibee" and can't get enough of her.  She makes sure to push her in her swing and always keep her covered up with a blanket.  We are all so proud of how well she has taken to her new sister.

Such a good big sister
That is about all I have for now.  We are all doing well and getting adjusted to having a newborn in the house again.  Big thanks to SueSue for coming up from Atlanta to help us with the girls!

T-Minus 2 weeks...

The 38-Week Torpedo

We went in for our 38 Week Ultrasound and check-up today and it went well.  The ultrasound went great and Baby F passed all her tests - breathing, heart rate, movement, etc.  We got a few pictures but she is running out of room in there so all the pictures of her face are all smushed!  But I will say she has the same lips, nose and cheeks as Hudson does!

Based on the measurements they took Baby Frericks 2.0 already weighs...
8 lbs, 11 oz!
And that is with 2 more weeks left to grow!  Lord help me!

Anyway, my doctor was still not too concerned about rushing into anything although good news is I am dialated 2-3 cm now!  With Hudson it took about 4 hours of pitocin to get that far so that is exciting!

So the plan for now is to wait it out and let nature do its thing....if nothing happens on its own, then we are scheduled to be induced on Friday, June 8th!

That is 2 days past my due date but my doctor was ok with that!

So we will keep everyone posted on any exciting news but for now Baby Giant...I mean Frericks...will just stay where she is and keep on growing!
Baby Frericks 2.0's Nursery
Here is a little sneak peak of Baby Frericks 2.0's nursery.  Thanks to my Grandmother (MamMam) for the sweet bedding and big thanks to Laurel for painting the cute pictures!  I will take some more of the whole room soon!

Hudson's new favorite toy - an ottoman...go figure...
Of course I couldn't leave Hudson off the blog...here is a picture of her playing with her new favorite toy...an ottoman...she likes to get in it with her baby doll and watch tv...or push it around the house...really she treats it like her own climbing gym!

Check back for updates soon!

The Countdown is on...

We have started the countdown till my new sister arrives.  Mommy is due one month from today so over the past few weeks we had to fit in as many fun things as we could before the baby gets here.

First of all....I just wanted to show everyone a picture of the kite daddy and I made that won a prize at school for "Best Flyer".  I colored it and helped daddy fold and staple it.  It was just one piece of paper but it flew like a bird!
Daddy, Hudson and the winning kite
A few weeks ago we took a trip to Atlanta.  Mommy can't travel anymore so we wanted to go down and see my cousins play baseball and soccer, celebrate SueSue's birthday and visit with MamMam.  It was such a fun trip.  I got to watch Reed play soccer and he did so well.  Then we spent the afternoon at the baseball field watching PJ.  He is such a good baseball player...it was fun to cheer for him!  After that we went over to Uncle Pace and Auntie Leens' house to celebrate SueSue's birthday.  As you can see we had so much fun.  My cousins are so sweet to me and they play with me all the time.  Uncle Pace cooked out and the food was great as usual...so good in fact...I had 3 pieces of corn on the cob!  We also opened presents and had ice cream cake!  What a great night!
Playing with the cousins...they treat me like a Queen...haha
Sweet PJ snuggling with my family
I don't know where I learned this b/c Mommy hates to shop
After a full weekend in Atlanta, we headed home to prepare for my baby sister.  Mommy was taking a picture of her 34 week belly so I had to show off my baby too.  I think Mommy's baby is going to be WAY bigger than my baby doll!
Mommy's baby and my Baby
Aunt Kelly came over to visit a few times also and brought me this awesome growth chart.  I have it hanging in my room and as you can see...I am already 34 inches tall...at 18 months!  No wonder I am loving my big girl bed...I have so much room to stretch out.  Speaking of being a big girl...I officially love my new bed and sleep all through the night now!  It was a long transition but now it is awesome.  I am still working on the potty thing but that is a lot harder than it looks.  And I got a new tooth!  One of my upper canine teeth came in and the other 1 and two lowers ones are about to break through the gums too!  How exciting!
34 inches at 18 months!
School is still going great and I love my teachers and classmates but on May 21, I graduate to the toddler classroom.  I will be sad to leave Miss Sheri but some of my old friends are in that class so it will be fun to be reunited with them.

A couple weekends ago, Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Macy took me to the Franklin Main Street Festival.  It was fun to walk around and see all the people and dogs.  I had a snow cone and of course got to jump in the jumpy castle.  I LOVED it!
Franklin Main Street Festival...jumpy castles rock!
Mommy and Daddy also took me and my sisters to Centennial park to feed the geese and ducks.  I wasn't so sure at first but then I got into it.  There were even baby goslings there and they were so cute!
Feeding the geese at Centennial
Mommy had her 35 week check-up last week and everything looked good.  Her belly is still too big but the doctor is not too concerned yet.  As you can see, the torpedo is getting bigger and bigger.  Even daddy's XXL shirts won't cover the whole thing!
35 weeks and XXL shirts don't even cover
Yes...there is really only one baby in there!
35 weeks....
That is about all for now.  Our neighborhood pool opened this weekend and we have already gone twice.  I love it and have made lots of new friends that I know I will get to play with all summer.  Mommy goes back to the doctor on Thursday and then hopefully gets an ultrasound in a week or two to check the size of the baby one more time!

As always...here are some pics from our adventures over the past month...

Big girl bed, Birthdays and Easter....

Wow a lot has happened over the past month or so!  We have been crazy busy and I have so many new and exciting things to tell you all about.

First of all - I officially moved into my big girl bed!  I have been in it a few weeks now and the transition is going OK.  I have learned how to get out of it...but can't quite climb back into it...so I am still getting used to it.  I LOVE napping in it though, so I know night time sleep will get better in the next week or so...fingers crossed!

Enough room for me and Daddy to nap together
In addition to my big girl bed...I have started using the POTTY!  It's true.  I still wear diapers and don't go on the potty all the time but I use the potty a few times a day and feel like such a big girl!  I know it would help mommy a lot if I could be potty trained by the time my sister gets here but I am not sure that will happen...haha!

School is going well still!  I love my teachers and have so much fun when I am there!  Recently we had a Build your own Kite contest and Daddy helped me with mine.  We made a really simple kite out of plain computer paper and I decorated it and guess what?!?  I Won first place for the Best Flying Kite!  I guess simple can be best!
Breakfast with my classmates
We also had an Easter Egg Hunt at school.  Our teachers helped us make baskets and helped us practice hunting.  My whole class did such a good job and found way more eggs than the toddlers!
Very focused on finding the good eggs!
On top of school, I have started going to Gymboree once a week and I LOVE it!  It is so much fun.  All the climbing, sliding, jumping, parachuting, etc that I can handle!  I have had two classes so far and I can't wait till the next one!
Sliding at Gymboree
We celebrated Daddy's birthday last week which was really fun.  I helped him open his presents and we went out to eat which was fun.  Then Friday night we had a big cook out at the house and I got to meet so many new friends.  I played with Riley, Hollis, John Houston, Tennyson, Anne Barrett and then I met two sweet babies - Haddie and Mills.  We had so much fun!  Everyone was so nice and I can't wait to see them all again!
Hanging with Anne Barrett...she is going to be a big girl like me!
Daddy's birthday also happened to fall on Easter Weekend so after our fun filled cook-out, the next day I got to wake up and go to an Easter Egg hunt at Yummy's house (that is Mills' grandma).  I got to see Tennyson and Mills again and even met a new friend names Windsor.  She was a lot of fun.  I was very focused on egg hunting and even found the golden egg!  I had a lot of fun playing of course.  Then when I left there I got to go home and see Grandma and Grandpa Frericks.  They came to spend the night with us and celebrate Easter.  We had a fun night and a great Easter day going to church, dying eggs and eating a great meal.  Overall, it was a very exciting weekend!
Just checking out my eggs
Happy Easter!
Dying eggs!

I am learning more and more words every day and my vocabulary is getting so big.  I love calling Maysie and pretending to talk to SueSue, BooBoo and Maggie on the phone.  I can say my cousin's names and my teachers and classmates names too!  It is fun to learn new words by repeating after mommy and daddy.  I am also still loving to eat of course.  This past weekend alone I tried for the first time and loved fried calamari, lamb, pasta salad, hard boiled eggs and some Easter candy of course!  I am still big into fruit...especially grapes these days, but I will try just about anything!

Other than our full weekend of festivities, we went back to the doctor to check on my baby sister,  We got an ultrasound and I got to see a picture of my sister on the screen.  She looks just like me according to mommy.  We also found out that mommy is 31 weeks along but my sister is measuring between 33 and 34 weeks...so she could come as early as May 23 instead of June 6.  She already weighs about 5 lbs and she hasn't even gone through her big growth spurt which happens the last month they say!  So, we go back in two weeks and then again 2 weeks after that and will get another ultrasound to check her growth!  I am getting so excited to meet her!

31 Weeks...measuring almost 34 weeks

My Baby Sister...she looks just like me!
I guess that is all for now.  Here is a link to some new pics of our celebrations and fun times!

February and March Updates

Well we have had a pretty crazy past few months...where to start.  Mommy always says when "it rains, it pours" and that has been true for us.  We had a rough few weeks last month and this month.  All within a few weeks of each other we had to buy a new HVAC unit, I got a double ear infection, all three of us got the stomach flu and Daddy had nose surgery to fix his deviated septum....man did it "pour" on us!  But we made it through all of that and seem to be on the up and up thankfully.

So enough about the not fun stuff...here is a little update on the fun things we have done:

First of all, I have to give a shout-out to my new friend Mills Hailey Kopf.  She was born earlier this month and I got to go meet her in the hospital.  She is so cute and I can't wait until she gets a little older so we can play together.  I can already tell we are going to be buddies.

Making Valentine Cookies for my class
School is still going well for me.  I love my teacher Miss Sheri and have already learned to say her name.  I am getting very good at talking and can repeat just about any word.  Some new words I have added to my vocab are: Maysie, shoe, sock, snack, treat, Sheri, Ella, bird (anything in the sky is a bird - even a plane) and many more.  I have also learned a few new signs as well: different, gentle, Grandfather, Grandmother and Grandparents and help.  I am very good at communicating what I want/need which makes it so much easier on Mommy and Daddy.  I also really like to sit anywhere and pat the space next to me to ask you to sit with me.  Sometimes I pat it and say your name or I will pat and say "see" which means you should come sit next to me.

Sitting with Daddy at the Park
It seems that winter is over in Nashville as it has been 80 degrees here for the past few weeks so we have spent a lot of time at the park. I LOVE the park.  I especially like to swing and go down the slides - although I only go down feet first on my stomach...what a daredevil.  I also like to play with the "Big" kids at the park and in my neighborhood.  I have a bunch of new friends in the neighborhood - well they are all older than me but they are very sweet to me and let me watch them play basketball in the cul-de-sac.  I have also become good friends with Ava Grace and Caleb across the street. They let me jump on their mini-trampoline and play with all their push toys.  I am very big into riding my "bike" and pushing my baby stroller - or any stroller really.  I guess that is good so I can be a good big sister come June.

Just swinging
As you know I am going to be a big sister in June and I am very excited about it.  I love giving Mommy's belly kisses and I can even say "sister" - although I don't really know what that means.  A few weekends ago Mommy and Daddy took me shopping for big girl furniture.  I get to move to a big girl queen size bed in a few weeks so my little sister can have my crib.  I can't wait to have all that space since when I stretch out in my crib I take up just about the whole thing.  I guess that is what happens when you grow to 34 inches long at just 16 months!

Mommy wanted me to tell you that she had her 28 week check-up today and everything looks good so far.  The doctor said that her belly is measuring at 30 weeks so she is about 2 weeks too large!  But according to her doctor, Mommy is "prone to giant babies" (Literally the doctor said that...in front of me...I guess I should have been offended but oh well) so she is not that worried about it yet.  We go back in 3 weeks for an ultrasound check up which means I get to see more pictures of my sister!  I can't wait to see how big she is and find out exactly when I get to meet her in person!

18 Weeks
24 weeks
28 Weeks...but measuring 30 weeks...how will she last for another 12 weeks?
I guess that is all for now.  Next week Mommy and Daddy are going out of town for work trips and SueSue, BooBoo and Maggie are coming to keep me for four days!  I am so excited b/c I LOVE Maggie!  We are going to have a lot of fun I can already tell.  We also have a trip planned to Atlanta to watch my cousins play baseball and soccer and to celebrate SueSue's birthday which will be awesome.  We have to travel now b/c come May, Mommy isn't allowed to travel anymore since my sister will be arriving June 6.

See ya next time!
Here are some pictures of my adventures over the past couple months!
