Well we survived another month of the Pandemic!
All of the kids were in school in person for 4 Glorious weeks and then Thanksgiving break happened!
But first....the bright side of November!
We wrapped up our fall soccer season.
Hudson's team played in the U12 Division 1 State tournament (playing up a year) and had a bit of a rough time. They finished the league 3rd but ended up losing both tournament games. However, Hudson really started to play well towards the end of the season and hopefully she can keep that momentum into the spring.
Sullivan's team enjoyed their very first out of town Tournament to Atlanta and they played AWESOME. We knew the Atlanta teams would be tough but these girls were ready. I think even more ready than I was expecting. They won all 3 bracket games and then won the Championship. They took on 3 Atlanta teams and one from Knoxville. They scored 25 goals and only gave up 3. But most importantly, they played REAL, "big girl" soccer as I call it. It was fun to watch!
After the tournament ended, we loaded everyone up in Atlanta and headed to the beach - with one pit stop in Columbus to drop off Hasil for "Puppy School" as we called it. It was the only way to get Tinsley to stop crying when she realized Hasil was not getting back in the car with us!
So after a 5 or so hour drive we arrived at Watersound in FL and it was awesome! We got to spend 4 fun and sun filled days with the Halter Cousins - which is basically the best week ever for my kids. Not to mention, they have NEVER been to the beach before. But man did they love it! Hudson, Thomas and Reed played in the freezing cold ocean all day every day and Sullivan and the twins dug more holes that I knew was possible. Needless to say it was a HUGE success!
Day one!
Tinsley loved to "jump the waves"
This kid had never been happier.....a shovel and all the sand! PJ insisted on burying him every day!
Our last day there, it was even hot enough for a little virgin daiquiri.
We had 3 resort pools, 2 were heated and one wasn't...this one didn't seem to mind the freezing cold not-heated pool!
Enjoying the warmest pool option!
It was so hard to leave the beach and such a fun trip (Shout out to Uncle Pace and Auntie Leens for including us in their Corona-ed spring break trip) but we had to get back to reality and school.
Unfortunately, while we were out of town, we got the news that Covid cases were exploding in Nashville and that ALL Nashville schools would be returning to virtual learning.
So we left the 80 degree beach and came to back to Nashville for our first snow of the winter, 20 degree weather and 3 kids home "doing" virtual school! Thank goodness Christmas is around the corner and we have something to look forward to. Virtual school is happening till the end of this semester at least, so fingers crossed we can go back in person in January - but I won't hold my breath! Thankfully the twins' preschool is still open in person......or we might all lose it!
That is about all for now. Basketball has started for Sullivan so let's hope that doesn't get cancelled. Hudson is supposed to start volleyball in January - I pray that also doesn't get cancelled!
As always, here are the rest of our pictures from our November fun:
