April 2020

So I lied....March was not the longest Month ever...APRIL WAS!

Another full month of lock-down has come and gone!  We survived...but just barely.

Again, we are so so thankful that we are all healthy and have everything we need.....but 7 people under one roof ALL THE time is getting rough!

We are still "homeschooling" and it is not amazing.  Hudson's class finally got up and going with some online work but Sullivan's grade is not going to do that.  So we are piecing it together with Common Core Work books, education.com printed packets, online lessons and all the iPad time!  Both girls have told me I am not a good teacher...but mostly b/c I can't actually teach b/c I have to work.  But we will make it....school gets out in 3 weeks so the countdown as begun!

The big girls and I get out to the soccer fields at least 3-4 times a week for training.  They do well but Sullivan in particular is really missing that aggressive outlet of playing on a soccer field!  She needs some competition in her life ASAP!  Thomas also goes with us and works on his hitting!  On the days  that we don't train, we sneak in some juggling, soccer tennis or touches and passes at home.

We had a nice little Quarantine Easter this year.  We had an Easter Egg Hunt in the backyard and then were surprised by our good friends the Tassa's with another Egg Hunt in the front yard.  The kids loved it!

We have had lots of picnics now that the weather is warmer.

We died Easter eggs.  And that went about as well as you can imagine with 5 kids, including 2 two and half year olds.

We roasted S'mores!

The Easter Bunny found us!

We attended our first Quarantine Birthday party for our good friend/neighbor.  She turned 3 so we all met in the cul-de-sac, sang Happy Birthday from our designated family square and enjoyed some pre-packaged birthday cupcakes.  It was so sweet and the birthday girl had a great time!

We fostered a dog for a few days.  Her name was Molly and she was about 2 years old.  She was very sweet and loved the kids and they loved her.  We were hoping it would work out and we could keep her but she was a "runner" and with 5 kids coming in and out all day, it just didn't work out.  She was also a bit dog aggressive and given our neighborhood and how many dogs are always out and about, we just didn't think it would be a good fit.  She was so sweet and will surely find a good home really quickly.

We planted some flowers.

And have done just about anything and everything else you can think of to stay entertained.

The kids ride their bikes all day in the afternoons once they finish school, they jump on the trampoline a lot, they play with chalk, etc, etc.  We are just trying to survive best we can like everyone else!

And did I mention the twins are OBSESSED with Frozen.  It's the first thing Conner says when he wakes up and we watch Frozen 1 and 2 at least 2 times a day!

That's about it for now.  We hope that Nashville will slowly get back to some sort of new normal soon, but for now, we are still locked down until at least May 8!
