Maysie is...

So Mom finally caught me on video doing my thing....here are a few short videos below so enjoy!

I just got this new drum toy and it is so fun to use as a pillow and I got this new push toy and I love it...it won't be long before I can walk by myself!

I am really good at standing up by myself...but sometimes a head stand is a great way to get started....

Mays is: 1) the most comfy couch and 2) A SAINT and P.S.  I love to clap about my favorite puppy!!

That's all for now...I think I am going to walk for real any day now so hopefully Mom can get it on video for everyone!

Nine Months and a Happy 4th of July

Holy cow...can you believe I am already 9 months old!  So much has changed over the past month and I am getting to be such a big girl!  Where to start...

I guess the most important thing is that my family went on our first vacation to Lake Rabun for 10 days...it was awesome!  We did a lot of swimming, rode in the boat, did some tubing and just played really hard!

Me, Daddy and Makers doing some lake swimming

As is Halter tradition, we do a lot of tubing and "riding the dragon" behind the boat at the lake and everyone starts early!  I couldn't be the only one not out there, so Mommy and I rode the dragon.  I actually kind of liked it.  I was not all too thrilled about the life jacket but I enjoyed the dragon.

Gotta Dragon it up

Playing at the lake is hard work though...so I also enjoyed a lot of hammock time and played in my really cool extra large Pack N' Play that SueSue got for me.  We put it on the top of the boathouse and I played and took naps in it.  It was perfect!

Relaxing with SueSue

The lake is exhausting

Fourth of July at Lake Rabun is pretty special.  First of all..I got to meet all my Halter Cousins!  They are crazy but so much fun!  There is a road race on Saturday morning, then fireworks at night and a wooden boat parade the next morning so being festive is a must!  As you can see I was all about being patriotic!

Happy Fourth of July

My very First Fourth of July...it was awesome!

Unfortunately we had to come home from the lake (I could have stayed there forever)...but Mommy and Daddy had to get back to work and I had to get back to school.

I am still loving the Academy and my teachers are the best.  Miss Wanda says that I am so easy to take care of and I am just so happy all day.  She also said I REALLY like to eat!  Haha...which is very true of course!  I am now eating all sorts of adult food.  I got a new tooth (I have SEVEN now) so I love biting into foods and chewing on EVERYTHING!  I love cheese and bread but I also like fruit, deli meat, hamburgers and pretty much anything you give me!

I have also learned a bunch of new things over the past month.  I am still doing a lot of waving and saying bye-bye but now I also can clap!  Mommy has to get it on video for everyone but I do it all the time!  I can also stand up without pulling up on anything and can hold it for quite a long time.  Mommy and Daddy say that I am trouble now b/c I can get into and reach everything.  I love to stand next to the tub and turn the water on and off and pull things off the top of the dresser.  And I really love unrolling the toilet paper off the holder!  I have taken one semi-step hear and there but always end up falling down...so still working on the walking thing!  I have however mastered walking along the couch or bed while holding on to it!  So I know my first real steps can't be that far away!

I went to the doctor yesterday for my Nine Month check up and Dr. Triggs said I looked great!  They took my measurements and no big surprise - I am still off the charts!  I am now officially 23.5 lbs and 30.5 inches long.  I am ABOVE the 97th percentile for BOTH!  NO wonder I have to wear 18 month sized clothes!

She gave Mommy and Daddy the go ahead to start giving me a little bit of Whole Milk along with pretty much any kind of adult food and my formula of course!  So everything is going great for me and my family!

I guess that is all for now.  Mommy will post videos of me getting into trouble and of course clapping about it as soon as she can!  Until next time...SEE YA LATER!

See ya next time...check out all my teeth!

As always here are all the pics from the last month...enjoy:

Eight Months and Other Surprises...

Well we finally had a some what quiet month!  We took some time to settle into the new house (although it is still a work in progress), we have at least added some new furniture to the still empty rooms.

As you can see from the picture above...Hudson turned 8 Months old yesterday.  I can't believe she is getting so grown up and BIG!  We got on the scale this morning and it seems that she is about 21 lbs or more.  We don't go back to the doctor for another month so then we will have a better idea of her exact weight and height but I can tell you she is getting TALL!  All of her clothes are now 12 or 18 month size.
(I am making her wear this onesie for all of her birthday pictures b/c I thought it would be funny...it is a three month size and you can't tell in this picture but I think we could only get one snap to close!)

The last month has been filled with work, school, working on the house and of course soccer!  As most of you know I have been coaching a Club soccer team here in Nashville for the past 7 years.  This was the last year they could play together, so over the past month we played in the State Championship game (we came in second for the THIRD year in a row...uugghhhh) but we still advanced to the Southern Regional Championship last weekend.  We were put in a tough bracket but it was just fun to get the girls together one last time.  It has been such a huge part of my life it is hard to believe it is over and I am officially retiring from coaching!  Hudson got to come and watch a few games and practices and the girls (and their moms) just love her!

We stayed home this past Memorial Day b/c of soccer and had a few friends over for a cook-out which was a lot of fun!  As you can see Hudson can have a great time anywhere!
Happy Memorial Day!

Hudson continues to get stronger and stronger everyday.  She pulls up on everything and is too tall for her own good.  She can stand up and reach the top of dressers and shelves in the pantry...today she almost pulled down a bunch of canned goods on top of herself but luckily we caught her in time to stop her.  She is constantly on the move and as you can see below she just has to be standing up and playing these days!
One hand...showing off

One of the best parts of our new house is that our neighborhood has a pool and we LOVE it!  It is always full of kids and is the perfect place to beat the horrible heat of Nashville these days.  Hudson is a true WATER baby.  She can't get enough.  She doesn't like the baby pool and only wants to be in the big pool with the big kids!  We have spent many weekends there so far and I'm sure it will be our home away from home this summer!
Swimming in the big pool

We are going to sign up for swim lessons at the YMCA in August so that should be a lot of fun and give me a little peace of mind that she will know how to hold her breath and get used to going under!

I guess that is all for now other than the fact that Hudson said her FIRST WORDS!  I know, you're probably thinking "no way, she's too little, she probably just babbled"...and you would be right except that she has now repeated herself in front of multiple witnesses.  Monday, June 20, 2 days before her 8 month birthday, Hudson Waved and said "Bye-Bye".  It was the cutest thing I have ever seen...and melted my heart a little bit.  She said it to my friends who were babysitting her so they were the first witnesses.  Then the next night she waved and said it to Aunt Macy who came over for dinner and then last night she waved and said it to Tom who just got home from a work trip!  It is so cute and I will do my best to catch it on video and post for everyone to see!

So that is really all for now....we head to the Lake next week for the fourth of July and a week long vacation up there and we can't wait!  Hudson has never been but she already has a life jacket and three excited cousins waiting for her to play!  I will be sure to take lots of pictures and video b/c you know she will be tubing behind the boat and everything (we start them young at the Halter house).

See you next time!
As always here are some pics from the last month:

Seven Months, a new House and new tricks...

Wow...a lot has happened over the past month!

First of all, Baby girl is officially SEVEN months old!  So hard to believe.  Not only is she getting so grown up but she is officially mobile.  She is a speedy crawler and pulls up on anything and everything.  Check out the video at the bottom to see her in action.  Best of all...today she officially pulled up and let go of the couch and stood by herself with no help...lord help us right?!?!

She also has 6 teeth, two on the bottom and four on top!  She is a drooling machine.  She is still going to The Academy and is a week away from graduating up to Infant Three - which means she will be with the 10-12 month olds who are mobile and some even walking.  Miss Wanda and Miss Melanie will be her teachers and we love them, so it is going to be very fun!  Here is a funny shot of Huddy at school last week...she moved all the pillows under a crib and took a nap!  Miss Rachael said she made up her little bed under there and just got cozy...and actually slept there for like 45 minutes!  What a mess!!

Nothing like napping under a crib...

Our other big news is that we MOVED!  We have been in our new house for two weeks now and are really enjoying it.  It has so much more space for us and a great bonus room that has been baby-gated and makes for a great place for Hudson and I to hang out on the days I work from home.  Moving is so exhausting...but add a baby into the equation and it is deadly.  HUGE thanks to Grandma SueSue for coming all the way from Atlanta to play Nanny for the weekend (although she did line all the kitchen cabinets and hang some pictures....) she was also on baby duty all weekend!  We would never have been able to do it without her.  After three full days of unpacking, organizing, etc...we are settled.  Now we just have to furnish all our new space!

The New House

Tom's Favorite part...fully covered patio with fireplace and built in grill and fridge

Check out our video of the little speed racer...as annoyed as Maysie seems in the video, she and Hudson are actually big buddies!

That is about all for now.  We don't go back for our check-up until Nine Months so we will have some more posts before then!  As always here are some pictures of Huddy Bug from the past month or so!

What a Difference...

What a difference one week can make!!!

Last Friday I turned 6 months old and now I can...

CRAWL

and

FEED MYSELF!!!

Ok so I am not going to win any races just yet but I can get myself to my toys and most importantly to my puppies to give them good ear rubs!

I am too big for my Bumbo seat now since my feet touch the table and I can push myself out of it...but I love using my new high chair b/c I get to feed myself delicious Puffs and Yogurt Melts!

I love growing up!

P.S.  I am cutting 4 new teeth on top and 2 new ones on the bottom...pretty soon I will have 10 teeth!

Happy Easter and Happy Six Months!

Can you believe I am half way to being one year old?  Me neither!  I have had a great month and have so many new things to tell everyone...where to begin...

First of all, I can officially sit up by myself.  I have been doing it for about a month now and I love it!  I hate to lay down on my back which really makes changing my diaper an experience but I just love sitting up and enjoying the view.  I can get on all fours and lung forward or crawl backwards but I haven't coordinated the whole crawl forward thing just yet.  Recently I started pulling up on tables and the side of my crib!  Watch out!

Sitting up working on my bball skills

Second, I officially have four teeth.  My top two came in the past few weeks!  I chew on everything - remotes, phones, toys, you name it!  I wasn't too fussy when my teeth came in - just super drooly and a little bit of a runny nose!

Lastly, I went to the doctor for my 6 month check up and other then having to get more shots...I did great!  I am still growing like a weed and my little bout with RSV didn't hold me back at all.  I am officially 18.12 lbs and 28 and 7/8 inches long.  Which means I am in the 95th percentile for weight and still OFF the charts for height!  The doctor said I am doing great and even gave me the go ahead to eat all sorts of food.  So now on top of some of favorites like bananas, avacadoes and applesauce, I can eat mixed foods, some meats and even graham crackers and puffs.  I am LOVING it!

Daddy wanted me to try lemons....and I LOVED them

So I am really loving life and growing everyday.  I love going to school and have graduated to Infant 2 and am really close to moving up again to Infant 3.  I can't wait!

Daddy is trying to make me into a Notre Dame fan

In other exciting news - we sold our house and are moving on May 13th.  I am so excited about our new house for so many reasons.  I get a new room with a closet and I get to paint it yellow!  It is going to be so fun.  Plus, we have a great back patio that is perfect for playing and making smores in the outdoor fireplace AND we have a neighborhood pool so I can work on my swimming before I head to the lake this summer!

My family's last picture at our current house and our first Easter together
SueSue amd BooBoo came in town for my first Easter and we had so much fun!  I got a great Easter basket from the bunny and a whole bag full of goodies from SueSue.  We went to church and then out for a delicious brunch and I got to sit in a high chair like a big kid!  I even got a little nibble of a biscuit!  I love growing up!

Happy Easter from Huddy Bunny

That is all for now!  I have put a link to some of my new pictures below so enjoy!  I hope to learn to crawl for real soon so mommy can post a video of it soon!

5 months and Growing...

Happy 5 Months

Can you believe our little Huddy Bug is already 5 months old???  She is SOOO big and SOOO much fun.  We have officially packed up all of our 3 month clothing and MOST of our 6 month clothing....9-12 month fits best these days!  She is seriously LONG and lean.

We have had a great past few weeks with trips to Bowling Green and Atlanta and seeing lots of relatives, including attending PJ's 8th birthday party!  Never a dull moment with an 8 year old, 5 year old, 2 year old and 4 month old!  It was a madhouse for sure.  We atttempted to get a picture of all the cousins...easier said than done but here is the best one!

Reed, Charlie, Hudson and PJ

Hudson is officially on big girl food twice a day now and let's just say she is LOVING it.  So far we have tried prunes, green beans, peaches, bananas, avacados and carrots and she has liked them all.  Bananas are by far her favorite but she will eat anything really.  Recently in one sitting she polished off half a container of peaches and half a banana...and then chased it with an 8 ounce bottle.  We are pretty sure she has a hollow leg!

Her newest trick is sitting up and trying to crawl.  She has almost mastered sitting up by herself...she can hold herself up but is working on the balancing part of it...she usually holds it for a few seconds and then slowly leans to one side and falls over!  Haha.  She is also trying so hard to crawl!  She gets up on her hands and knees and then either falls back on her belly or pushes herself backwards!  Bless her heart...she can't ever figure out why she gets further away from her toys when she is trying to get closer!  She has also decided that she likes to hold her own bottle....she still needs a little help from time to time but overall she does a good job of it...as seen below!  It is fun to watch her learn and develop so much everyday!!
Just feeding myself....no big deal!
She is still loving school and recently graduated to the Infant 2 class and has new teachers - Miss Rachael and Miss Chastity.  She seems to be liking it and still rarely naps b/c as they say...she doesn't like to miss out on anything!

We have been enjoying some great weather down here in Nashville and have taken a few fun trips to the park.  She LOVES the big kid swings and next trip we plan to take her down the slide...so we wll see how that goes.
Fun at the park...

 Loving the sunshine...
I guess that is all for now.  We go back to the doctor for her 6 month check-up in April so I will post her new measurements then!  As always, click below to see some pictures from last month!
