Prunes are delicious...

We have had a rough couple of weeks around our house!  After a two week long bout with RSV for Hudson and an awesome sinus infection for me, we all seem to be on the mend!

Hudson officially has two teeth now and the doctor gave us the go-ahead to start rice cereal and fruits and veggies.  Since she has been sick we held off but last night we thought we would give it a try...and she LOVED them!

I just had to share this video of her first experience with Prunes....at first she was not so sure but once she figured it out, she loved them and really started to lean into it!  Haha....anyway, enjoy the pruney mess!

Four Months Old

** UPDATE - I totally forgot to mention the most exciting thing...Hudson officially has a TOOTH!!  One of bottom middle teeth came in last weekend to add to her shots, runny nose and vomiting....she got it before she even turned 4 months**

We have had a very exciting and jam packed last month or so...where should we begin..

Hudson is really enjoying The Academy and loves her teacher Miss Mikaela.  Since Hudson barely ever naps, she always gets some quality one-on-one time with Miss Mikaela and they read books or work on sign language, etc.  She has a bunch of new classmates (almost all boys) and seems to be enjoying it.  We are getting into our daily schedule a little bit better these days but when Tom travels it can get a bit hectic!

I posted Videos of Hudson's new talents and she seems to get stronger everyday.  She rolls all over the place now and tries so hard to sit up on her own.  It is really cute b/c it looks like she is doing crunches...haha...so we count them for her!  She loves standing with a little help and really hates to lay down now...she much prefers sitting up and standing...I guess she enjoys the view.

The past week has been a rough one for us.  Last Friday, Hudson went in for her four month check-up.  She had a runny nose but nothing major so we weren't too concerned and they went ahead with all of her shots.  She took them like a champ and cried for just a little bit.  She is of course still growing like a weed.  She is now 15.2 lbs and 27.5 inches.  Which means she is 90% for weight and still not on the chart for height....hopefully she will keep this long and lean body forever (makes me jealous!).  Anyway, the night of her shots she ran a 102 fever, which is normal after getting shots...but then the fun started.  Apparently her snotty nose was draining into her tummy which in turn caused some major projectile vomiting....according to Tom it was "Poltergeist" type stuff.  She shot it across the room, it came out of her nose...well you get the idea!  We felt so bad for her!  And to make it worse she did this after almost every meal all day Saturday and Monday!  Hopefully she will keep some food down today but we shall see.  The Doctor gave us the go ahead to introduce her to Rice cereal and Fruits and veggies but we haven't done that yet...trying to get her stomach settled first!

We went to visit the Frericks in Bowling Green last weekend (although she was a sad sick baby) she did get to meet some of her many cousins from the Frericks side which is always fun.  Now SueSue is in town visting while Tom goes to NC for the week!  Next week we are headed down to Atlanta for Cousin PJ's 8th Birthday and to see all of the Halters!

I guess that is all for now.  We go back to the doctor for our 6 month check up but we will try to post before then.  As always, here are some pics from the last month:

A few New Tricks...

Hudson has learned a few new tricks so we thought we would share them all! We like to think she is quite advanced at just 13 weeks old...haha!

She can also roll over from her back to her stomach but we haven't caught it on film yet! We will post it when we do!

Three Months Old Already

The past few weeks have been jam packed with many firsts, too much snow and yet another birthday for our Baby Girl.
I can't believe that Hudson is already three months old. She is growing so fast it is crazy. For starters, she has outgrown all of her three month clothing and is wearing 6-9 month sizes....and this happened when she was only 10 WEEKS! She is one long and lean little girl. Secondly, she officially rolled over! Granted she has only mastered the front to back roll but she does it just about every morning. It is cute to watch on the monitor because once she gets to her back she just laughs and stares at her giraffe mobile like..."Ok, what now?" And lastly, She has officially started school at The Academy of Maryland Farms. What a snobby name right? I think it is safe to say she is enjoying school way more than I am enjoying being back at work. She has a great teacher - Miss Michaela and has three buddies already - Lainey, Samuel and Sophie. She seemed to have a great first week according to all of her daily progress reports!

First Day of School
After the first day of school - Exhausted!
Hudson has also enjoyed some serious snow! I could have sworn we lived in the south but apparently that has changed. In her short 12 week life, she has seen more snow than I have in my 31 years! While it is pretty - it is getting kind of old - although Mays and Makers would disagree...they love it!

The Second Blizzard of 2011 (followed two weeks later by the third)

Another exciting first has been watching Hudson grab objects. She especially loves the Giraffe and Zebra on her swing! She will swing and talk to them forever! She also grabs the toys on her playmat and has to hold something when she eats - usually my hand or finger but I am introducing her to a lovey blanket so hopefully she takes to those just like her cousin Reed!

Chatting with my peeps

I guess that is all to report for now. She doesn't go back to the doctor until her four month check up - although I did get on the scale with her the other day and she is already well above 14 lbs I think!

We will post again soon but in the meantime here are more two month pics to check out:

Goodbye 2010...

It's hard to believe 2010 has already come and gone. What a great year it was!
Hudson is just growing like a weed...I swear she is bigger now than she was a week ago at Christmas. We started her on rice cereal in her bottle this weekend and she loves it! Hopefully it will help fill her up and give us longer than two hours between meals to run errands and get things done! haha.
I start work on January 10 and can't believe 12 weeks is almost up. I don't even want to think about going back to work and being away from her all day but I think she will really enjoy daycare and getting to make new friends. She will be going to The Academy of Maryland Farms. It sounds so snobby and makes me laugh everytime but truth be told...it was the only one we got into. We are still on 5 other waiting lists! INSANE!
Not much else to report! Check back soon for more pics and updates on her first days of school.
Happy New Year to everyone and we hope 2011 is wonderful for you all!

Hudson was ready to potty - I mean Party - like a rockstar on NYE!

Here are a few two month pictures....enjoy:
