May 2020

We survived another Quarantine month!  We gained a little freedom back when Nashville started Phase 1 of easing our restrictions which was nice.  But camps are all still cancelled so we really don't have anything going on anyway!

Luckily the weather has been nice and hot which means we spend most days outside!

We have enjoyed several trips to the creek!

We bought ourselves a VERY fancy pool!  It's actually pretty fun and keeps the kids entertained on hot days.  Fingers crossed our neighborhood pool opens later this summer, but it won't be any sooner than June 15th, so we need some way to beat the heat.

We celebrated another Quarantine Birthday for our sweet neighbor Baby Paul.  Cookies and fun in the cul-de-sac.

May also brought the last day of  "school".  For Thomas that meant a drive-through goodbye to his sweet teachers at Judson Baptist Weekday!  He loved getting to see his friends in the drive through line and say goodbye to some of his favorite teachers!

Our favorite shaved ice truck set-up shop at the girls' school one weekend so we got to enjoy some delicious Blue Monkey Shaved Ice!

But thankfully...May also means a trip to the Lake.  Since the big girls didn't have school, we were able to sneak away early.  We headed up on Tuesday and stayed until Memorial Day - it was a much needed change of scenery!!

The girls spend their "last day of school" on the boat and in the water!  Not a bad way to finish the school year!  Hudson is on to 4th Grade and Sullivan is on to 3rd Grade.  Fingers crossed we get to go back to normal school in the fall!  Home-school was not awesome at the Frericks house..haha.

The kids picked up right where they left off last summer.  Sullivan got back on the kneeboard and even tried the wakeboard.  She didn't get up but she came close.

Conner and Tinsley got back on the ski.  They loved it the first day and for some reason didn't want to do it any more after that.  Tinsley did it one more time and loved it when we got going.  In their defense, the water was about 65 degrees.....so cold!  The babies really love playing in the baby pool on the top of the boathouse.  Tinsley decided she was going to run and jump.....over and over again!

Memorial Day also means COUSIN time.  Our most favorite time of the summer!

Hudson got back on the wakeboard and even tried to slalom.  She didn't get up, but I think she may get it by the end of the summer.

Thomas tore up the kneeboard and the tube.  He also tried to do the tied-together skis but he isn't quite heavy enough to control the skis in the water.  He's going to give the wakeboard a try next time!  He did have another big event though - he lost his first tooth!  It was helped out by several rough housing incidents where it was knocked loose and he was finally able to pull it!

Thomas also got to celebrate his 5th Birthday a little early with a cousin party!  Complete with ice cream cake and all!

Apparently when you turn five, you become very sophisticated and cross your legs for present opening!

We of course ended our trip with S'mores by the lake!  Always a crowd favorite!

After our week of fun at the lake, we headed home to celebrate Thomas' actual birthday!!  I can't believe he is FIVE!  One whole hand!

He made out like a bandit on his quarantine birthday!  He got a new, bigger, faster bike along with several bike accessories - a bell, water bottle holder and cool LED lights for his wheels.  He also got a new helmet and some cool magna-tile toys!

He is still growing like a week!!!  Almost 4 feet tall!

We also celebrated him AGAIN with a fun water fight party with our neighborhood friends!

Super Hero Cookie Cake
Boys Team for the Water Fight
The whole party crew!  420 water balloons, 15 water guns, several buckets and possibly even a garden hose later, I'd say fun was had by all!

That is about it for May.

June does bring us a little more freedom (for now at least).  Hudson has a volleyball camp, both girls start back small group training for soccer and we get to head back to the lake for July 4th!

We hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Here are the rest of our May pictures:
