February 2022

February...the longest and shortest month of the year somehow!

Our February was full of sports, more sports and a couple other sports!

Sullivan wrapped up Basketball with a 2nd Place Finish in the 5th Grade Flight League Championship.  It was a tough game in the finals against a very big and talented team and in the end we came up just 2 points shy!  This is the first time in SIX years her team did not win the championship so it was a tough day!  But playing an age group up is tough and P.S. 5th Graders are HUGE these days!

Thomas' team had a great season!  They got better and better each game and within a 2 week span they went from losing to a team by 40 POINTS to meeting that same team in the Semi-Finals and losing in overtime by TWO!  They played so hard and had a great season finishing in the top FOUR in the 1st Grade league.

Hudson wrapped up Volleyball and started outdoor soccer.  Her soccer team went to Atlanta for a tournament at the end of the month.  It was a tough weekend as they were put in the top bracket against other club's ECNL teams...BUT...we battled every game and while we lost all 3 games, they were all 1 goal games where we had a ton of chances, just couldn't put them away!  It was a great weekend and a good opportunity for the team to get ready for league play back at home!

Hudson's volleyball team came alive in the end of the season Tournament and swept the whole thing!  They won every set and became the Alliance Winter League Intermediate Champs.  She loves volleyball and it is fun to watch her learn something new and gain confidence in it!

That is about all for now!

March brings us Baseball for Thomas and the babies!!  They are playing together for the first time and it should be hilarious!

The girls are back outside with soccer and games have already started!

We can't wait for the rain ad cold weather to go away permanently!

January 2022

 January was....COLD.

We enjoyed THREE different snow storms in the month of January!!!  That is just crazy for the South!

All the kids loved the snow, especially Hasil, and took full advantage of sledding the big hill in the neighborhood!

Other than trying to stay warm, January has been full of Basketball, Volleyball and Indoor soccer (with a little outdoor soccer mixed in).

Thomas' team is playing great!  They have lost 2 games so far but get a little bit better each game!

Sullivan's team is undefeated and headed into the tournament as the #1 Seed.  We have one last game of the regular season and it should be a tough one to get us ready for the tournament next weekend!

Hudson is playing volleyball and loving it!  Her serve has improved so much and she seems to be hitting her stride on the volleyball court!

That is about all for now. February brings us the end of basketball and volleyball and the beginning of outdoor spring soccer season!  Hope the warm weather gets here soon!!

December 2021

2022 is off to a cold, snowy, busy start around here.  We are only 2 weeks in and Nashville has already had 2 snow events...one that brought us 6 inches of snow!!  But our 2021 ended with a great December full of cousin time and Christmas fun.

We started off the month with a visit to the big guy!  For the first time since the babies were tiny and didn't know any better, we had all 5 see Santa and no tears!  Tinsley even wrapped up some of her old toys to give to Santa and it was adorable!

After our visit with Santa, we picked up out our Christmas tree and went straight home to start the decorating!

Both girls wrapped up the soccer season with fun team parties and when we got out of school we headed to Columbus for Halter Christmas.

We were lucky enough to stop in Atlanta and visit with MamMam.  Now that the 3 big kids are vaccinated, they were allowed to go inside so we got to eat lunch and do a short visit!

Columbus was full of all the fun cousin things: nerf wars, movies, soccer, gingerbread houses, bowling, and of course Christmas presents!

Tinsley had quite the approach to bowling but was also in first place in her lane for most of the day so...

We headed back to Nashville to get ready for Santa to come visit.  Thanks to Amazon, we were able to add to our blow up collection (much to Tom's disapproval) and had a lot of fun making cookies for Santa!

Christmas day was amazing.  Santa found us and everyone got just about everything they could have hoped for! We even got to enjoy some time with friends and a Christmas Day lunch!

We had a lame New Years Eve at home.  Watched a little football and most everyone was in bed long before the "guitar drop" happened!

January is off and running as we are right back into more snow, school, volleyball, basketball for two kids and Futsal for the big girls, outdoor soccer practice for the big girls and everything else we have going on in our crazy lives!

As always here are the rest of the pictures from our exciting December:

November 2021

How is 2021 almost over?  Is it just me or has Covid made me lose all concept of time....it feels like we just started school!

Compared to most of our months, November was pretty boring!!

The most exciting news was that the 3 big kids were finally able to get vaccinated!!

Hudson is wrapping up soccer finally.  Her poor team has been quarantined twice bc of Covid and has had to miss a lot of games.  They finally have their last make-up game this weekend and then they will take a little time off until January!

Sullivan's team wrapped up their fall season with a great Tournament in Memphis.  Playing up in the Silver Bracket, they went 4-0.  Scored 16 goals and only gave up 2.  It was a great end to a tough season learning a new formation, on a bigger field against older BOYS all season.  Super proud of how much they learned and how hard they battled to get better all season!

We were finally able to squeeze Hudson's birthday party in over Thanksgiving break.  She took a bunch of friends to SOAR.  This huge climbing tower/ropes course about 4 stories tall.  They had a blast climbing all over that thing for over 2 hours!

We had a nice relaxing Thanksgiving week!  We let Honey Baked Ham do our cooking and we just had a few lazy days with no sports or school!  Tom was able to take the kids to play some mini-golf also.  Between the tears and tantrums, I think a few hole-in-ones were made and maybe they had some fun too!

That is about all for now.

We turn our attention to basketball season and the start of volleyball season and of course getting ready for CHRISTMAS!

October 2021

How in the world is it already November?  I'm not sure how that happened but out of nowhere we are finished with Halloween and have moved on to Thanksgiving and Christmas!

October was a jam packed month of sports, celebrations and travel (mostly for sports)!

During Fall break we were able to find a free weekend (very rare these days) to enjoy some time (5 hours) at a pumpkin patch not too far from our house!  We did everything they had to offer and ate all the things they had to eat and left VERY exhausted but with a car full of pumpkins!

October also means we wrapped up soccer for the 3 littles!  They all did great and loved it!  Conner and Tinsley really found their place on the soccer field (when they weren't wrestling with each other) and had a blast!  They both scored some goals and learned how to defend and had a really great time! They are already asking about next season.

Thomas had a great season playing up against 2nd - 5th Graders.  He played tough and had a great time also.  His team even beat a 5th grade team not once...BUT Twice!

We also took some time to celebrate Hudson TURNING ELEVEN!!!  Of course we had to go to Knoxville on her birthday for soccer so she and I made it a girl's night.  We left early, got pedicures, ate dinner out and got to visit with our good friend Rachael and her kiddos!  She will eventually have her big birthday party but we just had to postpone until after soccer season!!

The big girls are still playing their fall season.  October was full of games and travel!  Sullivan's team enjoyed a weekend in Louisville for a Showcase event on Halloween Weekend!  They played great against some older talented teams and got better each game.  They even snuck in a little hotel trick or treating!

October also means school picture time!  Thankfully, I think all 3 big kids actually brushed their hair for pictures this year....maybe!

And we wrapped up the month of course with HALLOWEEN!  Luckily, Sullivan and I made it back in time to trick-or-treat with everyone!  It was perfect weather and everyone had a great time.  Hudson and Thomas did the whole neighborhood and racked up on candy.  The Twins made it around half and then just wanted to head home and hand out candy!  Sullivan was exhausted from a weekend of soccer so she only did about half also but already had a TON of candy from hotel trick-or-treating so she wasn't too worried about it!  We couldn't agree on a theme this year (and honestly who has the time) so everyone did their own thing...

Hudson was a Zombie Bride

Sullivan was Daddy Shark..do-do-do-do...

Thomas and Conner were Ninjas

And Tinsley was sweet Poppy from Trolls

I rocked some dino PJs  and Hasil was a beautiful ballerina and we called it a night!

That is about all for October!  November brings us the end of soccer season (with trips to Knoxville and Memphis left) and the start of Basketball season!
