September 2021

September brought us more school, more soccer, more baseball and TWO BIG BIRTHDAYS!

Both girls had a great tournament in September.  Hudson's team went 3-0 and brought home 1s place playing a year up in the second division.  They played tough all weekend.  Playing against 12 and 13 year olds is no joke (p.s.  Puberty is a real thing...haha)

Sullivan's team also played tough all weekend.  They went 2-1, losing a heart breaker to our fellow club teammates a year older.  It was their first tournament playing 9v9, up an age group in the top bracket and they did great.  They are still learning 9v9 and all the new things that come with it but seem to be catching on pretty quickly.  They brought home 2nd place!

The twins and Thomas also started soccer season and are doing great.

The twins are VERY into it this year and are playing great.  Conner is a goal scoring machine and Tinsley is pretty tough too.  Quite the turnaround from last year when neither one of them would even stay on the field...let alone touch the ball!

Thomas is doing great also!  He is playing up with his teammates who are 2nd graders and we found out they didn't have enough teams for all the age groups, so they get to play against teams who have kids that are in 2nd through 5th grades!  But his team is so tough and has not backed down yet!  The other weekend they killed a team of ALL 5th Graders!!!  He is very into it and has become quite the soccer player lately!

He is also splitting time between soccer and baseball this fall.  I don't get to many baseball games bc of coaching, but his little team is playing hard.  They are playing up an age group against some bigger and older boys but are doing alright.  We have had some NOT SO close games...but have managed to win a few also!  It's been a great learning experience and will have them ready for spring ball for sure!

We also took some time this month to celebrate the twins turning FOUR!!

We had another great pool party...in the rain...haha.  But it didn't seem to phase them!

They specifically asked for a Superhero cake and an Elsa cake and that is what they got!

They also got treated to donuts and a special visit from SueSue and BooBoo!!!

It was quite the week/weekend long celebration!!

The rest of the month has been all about school and sports!

We are looking forward to a week off of school for fall break and then more soccer, more baseball and more school!

August 2021

 August....August equals BACK TO SCHOOL!

We finally got all 5 back in school (knock on wood they stay there).

Conner and Tinsley are both in PreK 4 but are in different classes for the first time and honestly, they love it!  They have made new friends and I think might even like each other a little better not being together ALL DAY!

Sullivan started 4th grade and is loving it.  Her teacher is a sports and soccer loving guy so she is right at home!

Thomas started First Grade and after a little nervousness about his teacher has really been loving school!  His best bud is in his class so he was happy about that!

Hudson started 5th grade, which in Nashville, is considered Middle School.  She started at a new charter school in Nashville and is really loving it.  She only knew 1 or 2 people going there so she was so nervous but already loves it!

Other than school is has just been soccer, soccer, soccer!

Both girls have had games and Hudson's team went to Atlanta for a tournament and they did awesome!  It was their first tournament playing 11v11 and they battled in very hot weather on turf fields to come home with 2nd place!

Thats about all for now!

September bring us more school, more soccer, and a little baseball!  The twins and Thomas started soccer this week and their first games are this weekend.  We are also less than 10 days away from the Twins big birthday!!!

June 2021

June...what a long, HOT month full of soccer, baseball and camp!

We had an awesome and exhausting month!

We kicked off the month with Sullivan Turning NINE!  So hard to believe.  We were able to squeeze in a quick party with her soccer teammates in between soccer training and games!  We had a blast and the girls played hard at the Franklin Splash Pad and wrapped it up with some time on the soccer field of course!

She chose Hibachi for her Birthday dinner and we had a blast!

June also meant the end of baseball season and the start of Summer basketball season for Thomas!  He played in his first baseball tournament and after a rough first day going 0-2, they turned it around and ended up playing back into the finals and finished in 2nd Place!  They lost a heart breaker by 1 run in the final inning but he had fun and learned a lot!

He also started Summer Basketball with a few brothers of Sullivan's soccer teammates.  They play 3v3 in the Flight League and have had some tough games, but finally got their first win last week!

Hudson wrapped up her soccer season with the big trip to Dallas, TX for SuperCopa.  A very big National Tournament for teams U9 to U12 age groups. It is a very tough event and her team battled hard.  They didn't get the results they wanted but they were competitive in every game and played against some of the best U11 teams in the country!  It was hot, so so hot, but she played hard and was even able to sneak in a little fun - A Rangers Baseball game, some pool time and a trip to Ripley's Believe It or Not.

Sullivan's team also attended SuperCopa in Dallas and had a great week!  After losing their first game to the eventual Champions 7-0, they turned it around on day 2 and won both of the remaining bracket games 3-1 and 2-1.  After bracket play, they then divide up the teams into SuperCopa, Gold, Silver, etc.  Her team was seeded in 7th place (making the SuperCopa Bracket) but due to match-ups, they ended up having to play the #1 seed (a strong team from TX) in the Knock-Out Quarter-Final round.  We knew it was going to be a TOUGH game.  The team we played had won their games 11-0, 11-0 and 7-0.....so we were in for a battle.  Our team was down to 2 subs when one of our players was diagnosed with Mono and was out the rest of the weekend and it was about 105 degrees!  But our girls SHOWED up to play!  After scoring early on a PK, the other team tied it up 1-1.  But because of our hard work and high pressure, we were able to sneak in a second goal and WIN the game 2-1.  It was the upset of the tournament (so I've been told) and it was just one of those sports moments that won't be quickly forgotten.

We had just become the FIRST Tennessee Soccer Club (TSC) girls to team to make the SuperCopa bracket AND the first TSC team EVER, boys or girls, to advance to the Semi-Finals in the SuperCopa bracket!  It was unbelievable.

Unfortunately, our luck and energy ran out in the Semi-Finals and we lost to another talented TX team 1-2.  We battled to the end but we just ran out of gas!!

I am so proud of Sullivan and her teammates.  She and a few other girls played every minute of all 5 games in the blazing TX heat!  They battled with some of the best teams around the country and proved that this team of 2012s from TN are NO JOKE!!!

The twins of course hung out at home with sitters and got dragged from baseball games to baseball practice!  But they did get to go to their very first Soccer Camp at BGA and they loved it!  They played from 9:00-12:00 for a whole week and did great!  We went with our good friends the Morrissey's and everyone had a blast.....although I think their favorite part was getting to eat in the BGA cafeteria!  Haha.

(Sullivan spent the week at Belmont Basketball camp)

That is about all for now!  We are headed to the lake this week for a much needed vacation from all the things!

As soon as we get back we head right into Lipscomb Soccer Camp, Widgiwagan Overnight Camp and preseason soccer training!  Never a dull moment!

Here are the rest of the pictures from our exciting month of June:

May 2021

Well we did it....we survived the weirdest, hardest, longest school year EVER!

We spent all but 3 weeks of Fall Semester at home doing Virtual school and then we stayed home until Mid-February...but thankfully were able to finish out the year back in person!

It was a hard year with lots of tears, struggles, and a few smiles but we did it and the kids rocked it!  Almost all A's for the big kids and the twins did great also!

May also brought us the end to Sullivan's first ever lacrosse season which she loved.  We have wrapped up with soccer for the most part and also saw our baseball season come to an end!  Now...the big girls just have one tournament in Dallas in June and Thomas has one baseball tournament in town left!!

Quick update on each kid before you enjoy the pictures:

Hudson:  School was really hard for her this year.  The 4th grade teachers poured on the work and asked the kids to do a lot on their own on top of their regular assignments.  During virtual school, Hudson would sit at the table from 9am until 6pm some days.  But super proud of her...she was able to tough it out, learn how to ask for help and pulled off straight As when we all thought she may come in strong with all Cs for a little while!  She was named to the All-A Honor Roll and won the Presidential Academic Gold Award.  She was also named "Most Athletic" by her classmates!  Her soccer season ended strongly also.  Her team advanced to the State Cup Semi-Finals and lost a tough game 1-2 against a talented team from Memphis.  The first time we played them, we lost 1-5 so the improvement was amazing!  She also went through her first real Try-Out this year at soccer and was super excited to make the Showcase White Team (2nd team in her age group).  This means she gets to make the jump to 11v11 a year early!  She has grown a lot in soccer this year and I can't wait to see what next year brings!

Sullivan:  Sullivan didn't seem to phased by the virtual school thing.  She got a great teacher who understood how difficult virtual school was and really worked with the kids to make it fun, feasible and worthwhile.  She also pulled off straight As and had a great year!  She played lacrosse for the first time ever and really loved it.  She was disappointed that in girls lacrosse you aren't allowed to stick or body check people, but she figured it out and by the end of the season she was able to catch and throw (a feat that didn't come easy when the season first started).  Her soccer team had a great season also.  They continued to play up a year against boys and finished the league with just 1 loss.  They played a great tournament in Atlanta, playing a year up in the top bracket against some BIG physical teams.  They got beat up but battled to the end and were able to beat a dirty, physical team in the finals that they had tied the day before!

Thomas: I will start off by saying Virtual kindergarten is not something I would wish upon anyone!  Poor Thomas...his first year of real school and he spent almost all of it on a computer in our dining room!  That being said...he was a champ!  His teachers were all amazing and did everything they could to keep these kids engaged and excited about sitting on a computer for hours a day!  He did well at school, all things considered, and finished the year smarter than when he started.  He really excelled in Math and is getting better with his reading!  His baseball team rocked it this season going undefeated in the regular season and winning the post season tournament!  They are so fun to watch and he is really improving every game!  May also brings us Thomas' birthday!  He is officially SIX years old!  I can't believe it!  We celebrated with a pool party with neighborhood friends and he had a blast!

Tinsley: Thankfully the twins' school was open in person all year!  I don't know what we would have done if they were stuck at home with us all year!  Needless to say, Tinsley had a great year!  She loved school and all her buddies and teachers.  This month she was a trooper, getting dragged to soccer fields and baseball fields or getting stuck at home with a babysitter but she did it all full of sass and hilarious attitude.  She is so pumped the pool is open and is already swimming like a fish!  She can finally stand in the shallow end and insists on swimming without her float (in the shallow end) and has perfected her front flip into the water!

Conner: Conner also loved school and made so many new friends.  So many in fact, that both of the twins have asked to be in different classes next year for the first time!!!  He was also such a trooper being dragged around from field to field but in true Conner fashion, was just happy to be included and content to sit with a stick, a race car and a snack!  He is loving the pool as well and is becoming a good little swimmer himself!

That is about all for May.  Here are some pics of our adventures during the last month of school!
