June 2019

How in the world is June already over??  We had a jam packed month full of soccer, birthdays, camps, pool time and the kids' first wedding!

We kicked off June with our first of many 3v3 Tournaments.  Sullivan's team finished 2nd with a tough loss in overtime in the finals!  It was a long hot day but they had a great time!  It's so fun to see the girls together...chugging Gatorade, throwing water on each other, hanging out under the tent and giggling all day long!

The following day was Sullivan's 7th Birthday!  We celebrated with a pizza party at the pool of course!

This year we were blessed to be able to celebrate a very special birthday!  So we headed down to Atlanta to see MamMam and celebrate her 100th BIRTHDAY!  It was a quick but fun trip.  We snuck in a trip to the Atlanta Zoo and even got a few extra hours of cousin time!

All EIGHT Great-Grands
After the party we rushed back to Nashville to get Hudson checked-in and dropped off at her first ever overnight soccer camp.  She and 10 teammates spent 3 nights and 4 days at Lipscomb University's Overnight soccer camp and she could not have been more excited.  It was the most soccer she has ever played but she loved every minute and has already asked to go back next year!

Then we squeezed in another 3v3 Tournament.  We finished a tough 2nd place again (to an older team) but the girls loved playing at night under the lights....and I loved that it wasn't 100 degrees outside!

The babies have had a pretty laid back summer!  They don't get to do any camps and usually don't go to any 3v3 Tournaments - the days are just too long and too hot!  So lucky them...they get extra pool time with the babysitters!

Tinsley is still a talking machine.  She is as bossy as ever but also hilarious!   She loves to "talk"on her cell phone and is very into baby dolls these days!

Conner is still all smiles!  He still doesn't talk as much as Tinsley but he tries.  He loves the water (so does Tinsley) and still loves to eat everything all the time!

Sullivan got to enjoy a week at Lipscomb Soccer Day Camp.  She wasn't quite old enough for overnight camp so she spent the week with her good buddy at day camp, playing up with the 9 and 10 year olds.  They had a big time and got to enjoy the giant slip and slide every day!

Hudson also spent a week at "Cake Camp".  She learned all about baking and decorating and brought us home a treat every day!

Sullivan also spent a week at Belmont Basketball camp and had a blast.  Hudson opted out of basketball camp and went to VBS instead.  I think they both had a blast!

We wrapped up June with a very special wedding.  One of my former soccer players, who I coached for 7 years, who then helped me coach the girls rec team and is now the girls PE teacher, got married and asked the kids to be in the wedding!

They were thrilled and we had such a great time.

Thomas was the "ring barrier" but still can't figure out why he didn't actually carry the rings!  But looked adorable in his bow tie and suspenders.  He was mostly excited about the fancy shoes!  He did a great job and made it down the aisle!

The girls made beautiful flower girls and of course loved their dresses.

They had a great time with sweet Miss Karli and Mr Isaac.

All three of them tore up the dance floor all night long and loved the donut wall and giant cake of course!  It was a great night!

That is about all for our crazy busy June!

We are off to the Lake soon for July 4th and then back home for one more camp, a little more 3v3 soccer, the kick-off to the soccer season and of course getting ready to start school on August 5th!!!

May 2019

Summer time is here....finally!

We kicked off the month of May with First Hair cuts for the babies and soccer, soccer, soccer and some baseball!

The girls ended their first full season with our Home Tournament.  Both girls' teams missed getting some hardware by one game but both played really well.  Sullivan's team played up in the 2010 age group and won 2 and lost 1 and played some really good soccer.

Hudson's team played in the Gold Bracket and tied the Top team out of Memphis and their friends and Teammates on the Top team at TSC.  It was the hardest I have seen them all play all season.  We came up just short in our last game against the Top team out of Birmingham but overall, it was a great weekend.

I think they both loved their first season at TSC and have already been through try-outs for next season!

May also means school parties and performances.  Sullivan's First Grade did their performance called Bugs and this little ladybug had a solo.  She was a bit nervous but did really well and the whole show was adorable.

We finally got to the last day of school and that means our annual trip to the lake for Memorial Day and Thomas' Birthday Celebration!

The lake trip was so much fun.  Hudson picked right up when she left off last summer.  She got up on the wake-board and tied-together skis!

And for the first time, she got up on the kneeboard all on her own!  I was so proud to watch her stick it out through some frustrated tears and rough waters....but she finally did it!

As is our tradition, the babies took their first Ski-Trainer ride.  Neither one of them loved it.....but I wouldn't say they completely hated it either!

Both babies loved the boat and enjoyed the lake after a few days of getting used to it.

Thomas had a big weekend also!  He got right back up on the ski-board but he also jumped off the top all by himself for the first time ever!  And then proceeded to do it 3 more times!

We also got to celebrate his FOURTH birthday a few days early.  He requested a cake with spiderman, race cars, superheroes and legos.....so we settled on race cars...haha!

He opened some presents and was so excited to get a real baseball backpack and new helmets from his cousins!

When we got home, we celebrated Thomas' real birthday with a double-header baseball night.  His tournament started and his team won their first game but lost the second.  Since it was double elimination, they got to play again on Thursday night and played the best game they have had all season.  Thomas went 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs and every single kid played the game of their lives....sadly we came up short in extra innings but I would say his first season was a success!

Hudson also finally got to cut her hair off.  She has been growing it out to donate it for well over 3 years.  Her hair grows sooooo slow....but she did it!  She loves her short hair and it looks super cute!  We were able to donate 9 inches to the HairWeShare program!

That is about all for now!  June will be filled with 3v3 Soccer Tournaments, VBS, Camps and lots and lots of pool time!

April 2019

April was a long, jam packed month!

It's finally hot in Nashville and that means lost of outside time - on the soccer field, the baseball field and playing in the neighborhood!

The twins are still doing great!  They are growing up so fast.

Conner loves all things boy - throwing the ball, shooting the basketball, digging in the dirt, working in the yard and of course his dog!  He is starting to talk a little more each day and still loves food, food and more food!

Tinsley is still the boss baby!  She loves school and playing with the big kids.  She LOVES all animals and being outside.  She talks A LOT and is really funny these days.  And shockingly, she may love food more than Conner!

They are starting to do more and more "twin" things and recently started giving each other kisses - which is hilarious!  As much as they pick at each other, they also take care of each other!  Conner loves to bring Tins her paci when she gets upset!

April also meant we got to Celebrate Easter!  We started the season with an Egg hunt in the neighborhood and several egg hunts at school.  And we ended Easter with a great day at Church and some egg dying!

Most of our weekends have been spent on the soccer and baseball fields!

Hudson is doing really well and enjoying herself so much.  She has improved so much since the fall and is having so much fun with her sweet teammates.  Last weekend, she and I spent the weekend in Louisville for a tournament and they battled all weekend.  After coming in 2nd in their bracket, they breezed through the Semi-Finals and met up with the team they tied the day before and were able to hold on for a 3-2 Championship win!  It was so fun to see them all fight for that medal!

Sullivan is playing well also.  Unfortunately, due to a change in the rules, she is currently not allowed to play with her regular team due to her Birth Year, so she has been playing in the YMCA league with some other TSC players.  But she took it in stride and has been doing really well.  We are hoping the rule gets changed back so she can rejoin her teammates for the last few weekends of the season!

Thomas is LOVING baseball.  He has really come into his own on the field.  He usually gets a hit almost every time he gets up to bat!  Which is pretty impressive for a 3 year old playing coach pitch only.  We are still working on the fielding aspect....b/c he would much rather build dirt piles and pull the grass out of the ground...but he'll get there!  haha.

Here is video of one of his big hits...and equally big smile after making it to first base!

That is about all for now! We are looking forward to wrapping up school, soccer and baseball in May and of course our first trip to the lake for Memorial Day!

March 2019

It's officially Spring and I wish I could say it felt like it....but with the temps around 29 this morning, I'm still waiting for the big warm-up!

Nevertheless, March means that we are in full sports swing!

We started off the month with a once in a lifetime day for the girls.  With a big Thanks to wonderful friends (who are kind of big deals in the soccer world - Cori and Robert!!) - Hudson, Sullivan and their teammates got to be the player escorts for not one but TWO games in the SheBelieves Cup.  They both got to walk out on the field with players from Brazil and USA! It was an amazing day and something I'm sure they won't forget!

Hudson got a lot of camera time during the National Anthem!

March also meant SPRING BREAK!

We had a stay-cation this year and enjoyed some Nashville sights.  We played outside, baked Cake Pops, went to the Frist, the Zoo and the Library!

The Twins are doing well!  Despite a couple weeks of the stomach bug and then the flu, they are really growing up so fast!

Conner is still huge. He is 27 lbs, 1 oz (85%) and 35 Inches tall (>98%)!  He still loves to play ball - football and soccer but mostly basketball! He loves to eat any and everything but really loves bananas!  He is starting to talk a little more but is doing really well with his signing also!

Tinsley is still our munchkin!  She is 22 lbs, 15 oz (55%) and 31 3/4 Inches (55%).  Hard to believe she is older and was bigger at birth!  He is so much bigger than her now!  She is our most girly child also. She loves to have her hair brushed and her nails clipped and giggles every time she puts on a dress for church.  She also loves to eat any and everything!  She talks up a storm and even says several real words.  She also still signs but would much rather "talk" to us!

The girls are off to a great start in soccer.  Despite getting rained out the first few weekends, we are off and running now.  Sullivan's team missed making the finals in their first tournament by 1 goal but she is playing well!  Hudson's team has their first tournament this coming weekend but has been competing really well against older teams!  She is really starting to improve and her foot skills have really taken off!

March also meant Thomas' first baseball game!!  He has been so excited about this for weeks now.  The Royals played a really good team and didn't get the win, but he loved every minute!  He even made contact and foul tipped 2 pitches!  He was so happy and has asked every day when his next game is!  Thank goodness he has a game every Tuesday and Saturday!!

That is about all for March.  We can't wait for it to warm-up and stay warm!  April brings us even more soccer and baseball!!

Here are some pics from the rest of our March:
