May 2019

Summer time is here....finally!

We kicked off the month of May with First Hair cuts for the babies and soccer, soccer, soccer and some baseball!

The girls ended their first full season with our Home Tournament.  Both girls' teams missed getting some hardware by one game but both played really well.  Sullivan's team played up in the 2010 age group and won 2 and lost 1 and played some really good soccer.

Hudson's team played in the Gold Bracket and tied the Top team out of Memphis and their friends and Teammates on the Top team at TSC.  It was the hardest I have seen them all play all season.  We came up just short in our last game against the Top team out of Birmingham but overall, it was a great weekend.

I think they both loved their first season at TSC and have already been through try-outs for next season!

May also means school parties and performances.  Sullivan's First Grade did their performance called Bugs and this little ladybug had a solo.  She was a bit nervous but did really well and the whole show was adorable.

We finally got to the last day of school and that means our annual trip to the lake for Memorial Day and Thomas' Birthday Celebration!

The lake trip was so much fun.  Hudson picked right up when she left off last summer.  She got up on the wake-board and tied-together skis!

And for the first time, she got up on the kneeboard all on her own!  I was so proud to watch her stick it out through some frustrated tears and rough waters....but she finally did it!

As is our tradition, the babies took their first Ski-Trainer ride.  Neither one of them loved it.....but I wouldn't say they completely hated it either!

Both babies loved the boat and enjoyed the lake after a few days of getting used to it.

Thomas had a big weekend also!  He got right back up on the ski-board but he also jumped off the top all by himself for the first time ever!  And then proceeded to do it 3 more times!

We also got to celebrate his FOURTH birthday a few days early.  He requested a cake with spiderman, race cars, superheroes and legos.....so we settled on race cars...haha!

He opened some presents and was so excited to get a real baseball backpack and new helmets from his cousins!

When we got home, we celebrated Thomas' real birthday with a double-header baseball night.  His tournament started and his team won their first game but lost the second.  Since it was double elimination, they got to play again on Thursday night and played the best game they have had all season.  Thomas went 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs and every single kid played the game of their lives....sadly we came up short in extra innings but I would say his first season was a success!

Hudson also finally got to cut her hair off.  She has been growing it out to donate it for well over 3 years.  Her hair grows sooooo slow....but she did it!  She loves her short hair and it looks super cute!  We were able to donate 9 inches to the HairWeShare program!

That is about all for now!  June will be filled with 3v3 Soccer Tournaments, VBS, Camps and lots and lots of pool time!

April 2019

April was a long, jam packed month!

It's finally hot in Nashville and that means lost of outside time - on the soccer field, the baseball field and playing in the neighborhood!

The twins are still doing great!  They are growing up so fast.

Conner loves all things boy - throwing the ball, shooting the basketball, digging in the dirt, working in the yard and of course his dog!  He is starting to talk a little more each day and still loves food, food and more food!

Tinsley is still the boss baby!  She loves school and playing with the big kids.  She LOVES all animals and being outside.  She talks A LOT and is really funny these days.  And shockingly, she may love food more than Conner!

They are starting to do more and more "twin" things and recently started giving each other kisses - which is hilarious!  As much as they pick at each other, they also take care of each other!  Conner loves to bring Tins her paci when she gets upset!

April also meant we got to Celebrate Easter!  We started the season with an Egg hunt in the neighborhood and several egg hunts at school.  And we ended Easter with a great day at Church and some egg dying!

Most of our weekends have been spent on the soccer and baseball fields!

Hudson is doing really well and enjoying herself so much.  She has improved so much since the fall and is having so much fun with her sweet teammates.  Last weekend, she and I spent the weekend in Louisville for a tournament and they battled all weekend.  After coming in 2nd in their bracket, they breezed through the Semi-Finals and met up with the team they tied the day before and were able to hold on for a 3-2 Championship win!  It was so fun to see them all fight for that medal!

Sullivan is playing well also.  Unfortunately, due to a change in the rules, she is currently not allowed to play with her regular team due to her Birth Year, so she has been playing in the YMCA league with some other TSC players.  But she took it in stride and has been doing really well.  We are hoping the rule gets changed back so she can rejoin her teammates for the last few weekends of the season!

Thomas is LOVING baseball.  He has really come into his own on the field.  He usually gets a hit almost every time he gets up to bat!  Which is pretty impressive for a 3 year old playing coach pitch only.  We are still working on the fielding aspect....b/c he would much rather build dirt piles and pull the grass out of the ground...but he'll get there!  haha.

Here is video of one of his big hits...and equally big smile after making it to first base!

That is about all for now! We are looking forward to wrapping up school, soccer and baseball in May and of course our first trip to the lake for Memorial Day!

March 2019

It's officially Spring and I wish I could say it felt like it....but with the temps around 29 this morning, I'm still waiting for the big warm-up!

Nevertheless, March means that we are in full sports swing!

We started off the month with a once in a lifetime day for the girls.  With a big Thanks to wonderful friends (who are kind of big deals in the soccer world - Cori and Robert!!) - Hudson, Sullivan and their teammates got to be the player escorts for not one but TWO games in the SheBelieves Cup.  They both got to walk out on the field with players from Brazil and USA! It was an amazing day and something I'm sure they won't forget!

Hudson got a lot of camera time during the National Anthem!

March also meant SPRING BREAK!

We had a stay-cation this year and enjoyed some Nashville sights.  We played outside, baked Cake Pops, went to the Frist, the Zoo and the Library!

The Twins are doing well!  Despite a couple weeks of the stomach bug and then the flu, they are really growing up so fast!

Conner is still huge. He is 27 lbs, 1 oz (85%) and 35 Inches tall (>98%)!  He still loves to play ball - football and soccer but mostly basketball! He loves to eat any and everything but really loves bananas!  He is starting to talk a little more but is doing really well with his signing also!

Tinsley is still our munchkin!  She is 22 lbs, 15 oz (55%) and 31 3/4 Inches (55%).  Hard to believe she is older and was bigger at birth!  He is so much bigger than her now!  She is our most girly child also. She loves to have her hair brushed and her nails clipped and giggles every time she puts on a dress for church.  She also loves to eat any and everything!  She talks up a storm and even says several real words.  She also still signs but would much rather "talk" to us!

The girls are off to a great start in soccer.  Despite getting rained out the first few weekends, we are off and running now.  Sullivan's team missed making the finals in their first tournament by 1 goal but she is playing well!  Hudson's team has their first tournament this coming weekend but has been competing really well against older teams!  She is really starting to improve and her foot skills have really taken off!

March also meant Thomas' first baseball game!!  He has been so excited about this for weeks now.  The Royals played a really good team and didn't get the win, but he loved every minute!  He even made contact and foul tipped 2 pitches!  He was so happy and has asked every day when his next game is!  Thank goodness he has a game every Tuesday and Saturday!!

That is about all for March.  We can't wait for it to warm-up and stay warm!  April brings us even more soccer and baseball!!

Here are some pics from the rest of our March:

February 2019

February was full of basketball, baseball, indoor soccer and Rain...lots of rain!  In fact, we finally got to use one of our snow days...for flooding b/c of the rain!  We are so ready for warm weather and spring time!

Tinsley LOVES Thomas!
The twins are doing great.  Loving school, loving food, learning to play and fight with each other and talking more and more every day.  Tinsley is definitely the boss and also the mama.  She wipes Conner's nose for him and brings me wipes and a diaper when he is poopy.  Conner is still sweet and happy as can be.  They are both starting to say real words and Tinsley even learned how to yell at Sobe by name!  It is pretty funny!

Thomas has been taking a class called Lil Sluggers the past 8 weeks.  They worked on different skills including soccer and baseball.  This week they are focusing on Football and he is so excited.  He is still loving school and all his friends.  He is all signed up and ready to play real baseball this spring - he will be the youngest one out there so we will see how that goes!

Also, on one of our rare warm and NOT rainy days, Thomas took off on his big boy bike.  He has tried a few times already and while he could do it, he wasn't quite tall enough to get a foot down to stop without falling over...BUT....yesterday he decided he had grown and was big enough... and off he went!

The girls wrapped up Indoor soccer and basketball.

Hudson's indoor team won the league after a very rough first weekend.  They played well and Hudson really started to get the hang of it!  She even scored a goal in the final.  The league that her club does is a combination of 2 age groups so she was a little intimidated playing with and against the older girls, but eventually realized she could hang with them just fine!

Sullivan's team was 2nd going into the final weekend and without a tournament in her age group, I'm not sure where they ended up.  She had to miss her last games b/c they conflicted with our Basketball play-offs anyway!

Basketball ended awesome as well.  We joined a new team this season which meant I didn't have to coach and they got to play with great teammates and for amazing coaches who taught them so much.  This little group of all 1st and 2nd graders finished 3rd in the THIRD grade league.  Only losing in the semi-finals by 2 points!

Their 2nd grade team, made up of mostly 1st graders with a few 2nd graders, had a pretty dominating season and brought home the Championship!

It was a great season and they both learned so much!

Hudson also wrapped up Volleyball and REALLY liked it.  We are trying to find her another league to play in b/c she immediately said she wanted to keep playing!

The last week in February also meant the return to soccer outdoors!  If we can keep the rain away, we even have our first games outside this weekend!  Fingers crossed we don't get soaking wet and freeze to death!

That is about it for February.  Looking forward to quick warm-up with the arrival of March.

January 2019

It seems like January lasts forever but we finally made it to the end.

January has been a month full of cold weather (with no good snow), basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer and a BIG birthday for me!

The girls had one extra bonus day of Winter Break and the 3 littles had to go back, so we snuck off with the neighbors to a fun new Indoor Trampoline place.  The kids played for 3 HOURS straight!  It was so much fun and I think they would have stayed longer if we didn't have to leave to pick up the littles!

Hudson did everything they had to offer which included all sorts of trampolines, ninja courses, climbing walls, and a sky coaster.

Here she is taking the "leap of faith" to catch the trapeze!  It amazes me that this kind of stuff doesn't scare her!  Sullivan on the other hand, much preferred the trampolines!

Most of January was spent playing sports.  Both girls are playing indoor soccer with TSC and doing really well.  Hudson's team got off to a rough start but has turned it around and had a great weekend last week.  She even scored a goal which was very exciting.

Both girls are playing Basketball as well.  They play on a team that plays in the 2nd grade league and a 3rd grade league.  They have learned so much and Sullivan is really enjoying it.  Hudson is still trying to decide if she likes it or not, but she goes out every weekend and plays hard anyway.

Hudson started volleyball this month also. It is just once a week to learn the basics but she seems to be taking to it and really loves it.  They don't play matches or anything yet but I think she is ready to sign up for the next session already!

Thomas also started his sports class this month too.  He takes a class called Lil' Sluggers and they spend 9 weeks learning about  several different sports.  They started with soccer for the first 3 weeks, which he was bored with b/c he thinks he is a pro soccer player of course!  But this past week they did baseball and he was in heaven!  They will spend a few more weeks on baseball and then do football and indoor hockey!

January also marked a big birthday for me!  The BIG 4-0!  Which basically just means I am as old as my knees already feel!  But I had a great birthday weekend with a visit from SueSue and BooBoo, lots of soccer and basketball games and a surprise dinner out with our fun neighbors.  I even came home to a fully decorated house, with streamers, 40 balloons and a banner that said "You're Old".  Haha.  It was a fun weekend!

The girls also celebrated the 100th day of school this past week. Here are our two little grannies! (They have silver hair, you just can't see it very well)

And not to be forgotten.....the babies are doing great!  They get dragged along to all the soccer games and celebrations but they just roll with it. Thank goodness for teenage neighbors, b/c they do get to stay home with the babysitters during basketball so at least they get a small break!

Tinsley is still the runt of the 2 but also still the BOSS.  She is crabby and grumpy but also hilarious!  She is always "talking" and understands everything you tell her.  She loves dogs and dancing and food.  She can sign several words and got 2 more teeth recently.

Conner is still as sweet as can be.  He is happy and laid back and pretty chill most of the time.  He loves to eat and dance and any and all balls.  It is his favorite word to say and he always has to be kicking or throwing something - ball or not.  He is still huge (wearing a 2T now) and is a solid head taller than Tinsley.  He is finally starting to sign some words but is really happy to give just a big cheesey grin and typically that gets him what he wants.  He also loves Makers and gives her several hugs a day.

That is about all for now.  We have another weekend full of sports and February will bring the end of basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer...but also the beginning of outdoor soccer...so I guess it never ends!
