July 2018

July has been a full, fun, month of firsts!

These 2 crazies turned 10 months old.  I can't believe they are so close to turning ONE!

This little lady is 17lbs, 15oz (50%) and 28 1/4 Inches long (75%).  Which officially makes her the runt of the family!!  But what she lacks in size, she makes up for in attitude!  She is high maintenance and LOUD!  But she is also very silly and funny.  She loves to dance and squeal and make funny faces.  She loves to eat and still sleeps great at night and enjoys a long nap.  She is standing on her own and has taken a few steps pushing a walker.

This guy is growing like a weed.  He is 21lbs (74%) and 31 1/4 Inches long (>98%).  So he is one tall 10 month old!  He is super laid back, easy going and SUPER smiley!  He literally smiles ALL the time!  He LOVES to eat!  He loves to dance also!  He sleeps great at night and sometimes takes a nap....although he much prefers a power nap!  He is also standing all by himself and took his first steps on his 10 month birthday!  He is so proud of himself every time he takes any steps!

July also means our week long trip to the lake!  We had such a great time as always.  The kids had so much cousin time (which they love) and spent all day every day in the water.  We skied, tubed, wakeboarded, swam, played on the big blue mat, picked blackberries, roasted s'mores and all the other things!

The cousin crew...bribed to smile
How they really act
Super proud of Hudson and Thomas for taking on something new at the lake!

Hudson got up on the wakeboard...

And Thomas got up on the Ski-board...

(Makers takes her job spotting very seriously)

It was a great trip that was too short as always!

The month of July also meant more camp fun!

The girls went to their first ever sleep away camp!  They spent a full week at Camp Widjiwagan.  2 of their sweet friends/soccer teammates/basketball teammates joined them and I think all four had a blast.  They swam, did water sports, built bird houses, did archery and horse back riding, etc, etc.  I'm pretty sure they did it all!  When we picked them up, they begged to stay for another week!

After Camp Widji, the girls spent four days at Brentwood Academy basketball camp and learned a lot.  After the last day, they headed up to Bowling Green for some Grandma and Grandpa time.  I know they did a lot of fun stuff but all I heard about was the giant catfish that they caught all by themselves!

With summer coming to an end (school starts next Tuesday), we are trying to squeeze a few more fun things in.

Hudson starts travel soccer this week and she is so excited.

We have a fun day planned with friends at the splash pad and then it's back to the grind next week!

As always, here are all the pictures from our July adventures:

June 2018

June was a month full of celebrations and summer fun.

These 2 turned 9 Months old!  Hard to believe we are so close to turning ONE!
Tinsley still loves to sleep, says "da-da" all the time, loves to eat, is super silly but also still high maintenance!

Conner is so big, standing on his own, taking a few steps pushing something, LOVES to eat, smiles all the time and is pretty easy going!

We also celebrated Sullivan turning SIX!  She had a great birthday celebration including a pool party and sleepover with a few of her sweet friends from school.

June also meant a little bit more soccer.  The girls went to Vandy soccer camp for a week and then played in a 3v3 Tournament with a few teammates.  It was a long, hot day with our first game at 3:30 and our last game ending around 9:30pm but they had fun and played hard.  We won 2 games and tied 2 games but managed to bring home FIRST place!

Before sneaking away to the lake, we got to spend some time with neighborhood friends (and old neighborhood friends) and of course plenty of time at the pool!

The end of June also means our big lake trip for July 4th!  We have been here a couple of days and have already had plenty of fun!
Thomas is back on his ski and it's all he wants to do all day, every day!

We have had plenty of swim time!

Hudson got up on real skis!!!

Of course we have done a ton of tubing!

Hudson and I ran the Rabun Ramble.  This was her second time doing it and she did awesome.  It was a 5K and she made it the whole way with running/walking intervals but I was proud of her for pushing through to the end!

Thomas has decided he wants to tube like the big kids.  While we were going, he jumped off the other tube on to this tube with PJ and hung on for dear life but loved every second!

We are already getting into the July 4th Spirit of course!

And even the babies are enjoying some lake swimming.

And all of this was just in our first 3 DAYS!

The kids are loving every second and can't wait to spend 7 more days up here!

May 2018

May was a LONG and jam packed month.  Full of finales and Firsts!  We survived and are ready for a fun summer!

These 2 crazies turned 8 Months old!
Conner is such a happy, smiley baby.  He loves to eat, pull up, try to walk and be outside.  He still doesn't like naps but sleeps great at night.

Tinsley is a little high maintenance but very funny and silly.  She loves to eat, pull up and be held.  She takes good long naps and also sleeps great at night.

They have started to interact with each other more and more - mostly to steal toys from each other but every now and then, they make each other laugh which is so fun to watch.

May also meant the end of another great soccer season.

Thomas finished his first ever season.  While I wouldn't call him Pele just yet....he had fun, didn't cry, loved being with his teammates, dominated the corner flag, got stuck in the net a few times...but in the final game of the season...he did score a goal off a free kick!  I'm not sure he even knows he scored but he had a blast and that is all that matters!

The Purple Dragons had another awesome season.  They played up in the Second Grade age group which was challenging but good.  We played some teams that were much bigger and stronger than us but still held our own.  We won more games than we lost and really started to play some nice soccer.  Passing, learning about and staying in our positions, defending and even using heading the ball in games...it was a fun season!

May also meant the end of another great school year.  I can't believe it is already over...with all the crazy weather and days off, this year seemed to fly by faster than others.  Both girls had amazing years with even more amazing teachers.  It's crazy how much they learned, changed and grew!
Officially a First Grader
Our Big Second Grader
As soon as school got out, we hit the road for our first trip to the lake!

It was full of firsts for everyone!

The babies experienced their first boat ride - and LOVED it!

They also enjoyed their first Tube Ride...and also LOVED it!

Thomas went off the top (with a little help).  But loved it and ran back up asking to do it again!

Sullivan Jumped off the top for the first time on her own!

Hudson got up on the Tied together skis for the first time ever!  She was terrified and may have cried the whole time but was so excited when she did it and saw this picture!!!

And of course being at the lake means PLENTY of cousin time!  Which is always the best!

The BIG cousins enjoyed a little tube ride on our last day together!

Unfortunately, Tropical Storm Alberto cut our trip a day short but we were able to sneak in one more boat ride after dinner, in between rain showers!

I love how much these kiddos love the lake!  Just like I did as a kid and still do as an adult!

We also celebrated a BIG birthday at the lake!  Thomas turned THREE!  I can't believe he is so old!  All he asked for was a race car cake and so that is what he got!  He was way more interested in the cars than he was the cake....but everyone else enjoyed it!

When we got home, the celebrations continued for Thomas.  He opened the rest of his presents, which included a BIG boy bike (we may have gone a little too big...but he'll grow into it), more race cars, some bubble toys and pool toys! He also got to pick his Birthday dinner which was of course Chic-Fil-A!

That is about all for May.  The girls have their first Lacrosse practice this week and then we hit June full steam ahead.  We are looking forward to VBS, Vandy Soccer Camp and our next trip to the lake for July 4th!

April 2018

Thank goodness it's finally spring in Nashville.  The weather is warming up and that means more outside time...soccer games, block parties and festivals take up most of our time these days and we love it!

The babies are seven months old now and have changed so much.  Both are fully on the go crawling up a storm and are just nonstop all the time.
Big Boy
Conner is crawling and trying to pull up already.  He now has 6 teeth and is super smiley all the time.  He LOVES food and chewing on everything!  He is still the laid back mellow one and still does a great job sleeping at night.  He doesn't love to nap...but we're working on it!
Sweet Girl
Tinsley is a fast crawler and likes to explore all over the downstairs.  She is also trying to pull up on everything.  She has 4 teeth now.  She also LOVES food and puffs and crackers.  She is tough and definitely the boss of the two.  She is a great sleeper at night (finally) and also likes to take a good long nap!

We started off April in Atlanta for Spring Break and Easter.  It was a great trip that included lots of cousin time and time with MamMam.  It was so special to introduce her to the twins and they even got to visit her nursing home which was great.  We had to walk around to every table in the cafeteria so everyone could meet the babies.
MamMam and her 8 Grands!
The rest of our month has been filled with soccer, school festivals and neighborhood block parties.

Due to all of the rain we have gotten recently, we have only played 2 soccer games (5 weeks into the season).  But the Purple Dragons are playing really well.  They are starting to really "get" soccer and make some nice passes and plays.  Considering we are mostly kindergartners playing against 2nd Graders, I am so impressed with them every single weekend!
Sullivan loves defense!
The Green Team is getting a little bit better each weekend.  They are all first timers (except for one) so just being out there is a huge victory.  Thomas does OK.  He will take goal kicks and kick-offs but that is about the only time he will touch the ball during the game!  He is the youngest on the team so if he is out there without tears....I'll take it!
Big Kick

This past weekend we had a big celebration for the Twins Baptism.  Both sets of grandparents came to town and got to see some soccer and the baptism.  It was a fun weekend!
All my people!
Their big day!
Hard to believe that April is over and May is here.  That means only 3 weeks left of school and then summer time!  We are looking forward to wrapping up soccer season and taking a long trip to the Lake for Memorial Day!

March 2018

Spring is off to a great start for us!

March saw the end of the Green Frogs Basketball season.  After an undefeated season, we started the March Madness Tournament off strong and advanced to the Semi-Finals where we met a very good team.  We ended up losing in Double Overtime, Sudden death on a Free Throw!  It was heartbreaking but the girls played so hard and fought every second of the way!  It was a good life lesson as this group has not lost a game in TWO seasons...and sometimes you learn more from a loss than a win!  They'll be back next season ready to go!

The babies also turned 6 months in March.  How can they be having their Half-birthday already!  They are SO big and they change so much every day!

This guy is the laid back, calm one.  He LOVES to eat.  You can't get it in his mouth fast enough that's for sure.  He still loves to sleep but only at night.  His naps are short and sweet...or sometimes don't happen at all!  He can sit up on his own and is finally getting up on all fours.  He loves the activity center and is about to get 3 or 4 more teeth all at once!  He weighs 17 lbs, 9.5 Oz (50%) and is 29.5 Inches Tall (>98%).  So long and so lean!!

This little lady is a mess.  She is as high maintenance as ever but finally started sleeping.  And once she figured it out....she loved it.  She does 12-14 hours a night and even takes a good long nap during the day.  She also loves to eat food and has to shovel it in just to keep it away from Conner.  She is sitting up, can push herself up from laying down, up on all fours and sometimes even in bear crawl position.  She can lunge forward and crawl backward but it won't be long before she puts it all together.  She loves the jumperoo and also has 2 teeth and drool for days, but no more teeth that I can see yet.  She weighs 16 lbs, 6.5 Oz (50%) and is 26 3/4 Inches long (80%).  For now, she is the little nugget of the family!

As Basketball ended, Tennis and soccer started.  The girls are taking tennis lessons on Tuesday nights and really love it!  They seem to get a little better each week.

Soccer has also started and that means that Thomas finally gets his turn.  We have had one practice so far and he did really great.  The only time he cried was when Sullivan touched his ball...HAHA!  Go figure!  The girls team is back together again and playing up against 2nd graders (we have mostly kindergartners) so it's going to be a tough but good season for them. The first game is this weekend and Thomas is so excited!

This year Easter and our spring break lined up together and we made the most of it.

We were able to rush home from soccer practice to make it to the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt and as always it was a blast.  Somehow, even though we got there 15 minutes late, Sullivan was able to find the Silver Egg!  She was pumped!

For Spring Break this year, we loaded everyone up (dogs included) and headed to GA.  Our first stop was in Columbus to see the cousins in their new city!  We had a blast sight seeing, zip-lining, and yes, even swimming in their pool!  It was freezing but the kids didn't seem to care.  They even got in at night! Columbus is a great town.

After a couple of days, we headed up to Atlanta just in time for Easter!

Of course b/c we live in Nashville, nobody really knows what the next day may bring but currently the forecast is for highs in the 40s....so we are all SOO ready for some warm spring weather to stick around.  We have a lots of tennis and soccer to play and our neighborhood pool is open so of course the kids are dying to go!

That's about all for now.  Here are the rest of the pictures from March:
