May 2015

I can't believe that it is already Memorial Day!  This month has flown by.  Even harder to believe that in less than 4 days, we will grow from a family of 4 to a family of 5!!!!

We have really been enjoying the past month.  With me not being able to travel and due to the giant torpedo belly, we have not been up to much other than wrapping up the soccer season, swimming, and celebrating birthday parties on what seems like every weekend!

Our pool opened the first weekend of May and of course our girls had to be there.  The water was basically like jumping into an ice bath but that didn't slow Hudson down!  She picked up right where she left off last summer.
Flipping
Sobes on the other hand....dressed the part, walked around a lot and mostly posed for pictures!  But they had fun nonetheless.
Just posing
We also wrapped up yet another awesome soccer season.  Our team was amazing and we had such a fun group of boys and girls.  Sobes made it through the season with minimal crying.  She scored one goal but most importantly, stayed on the field for the most part...which is really all you can ask for from a 2 year old.

Hudson on the other hand really started to get the hang of it.  She had several games with multiple goals and really seemed to enjoy herself.
Celebrating a hat-trick
Trophy time after our last game in the rain!
May also seems to be the month for birthdays!  We had so much fun celebrating two of our good friends.  We got to play at Centennial Park to celebrate Carter (Sobes' boyfriend).  All the kids got a big kick out of the huge train exhibit.  We also go to celebrate Caleb (Hudson's Boyfriend) at Chuck-E-Cheese.  Not the most fun place for adults but the kids sure do love it!

Giant Train!
We kicked off Memorial Day weekend with a trip to Bobbie's Dairy Dip.  It is a Nashville Tradition and we are trying to make a point of eating at different places every time we go out.  I think this one was a big hit.  Burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings and all sorts of ice cream treats...who wouldn't like that!?!?
Pretty sure she like her dipped cone...
The rest of our weekend has consisted of pool, pool and more pool.  The girls are obsessed.  Even though it still feels like an ice bath, they are turning into little fish!

We are looking forward to the long weekend and then having a couple more days to prepare for Baby Frericks 3.0's arrival!  We are scheduled to be induced on Thursday at 6:00am!  Can't wait to find out if the girls are really going to rule the house or if Tom is going to get a little boy back-up!

Here are a few more pictures of our past month or so:

April 2015

Hard to believe that April is already over....it really did fly by!

We had a great Month full of lots of family and friend time!

April started off with all sorts of Easter Celebrations.  One of the girls' school - The Academy of Powell Place - had a big egg hunt and the girls had a blast.  Sully loved seeing the Easter bunny and ran right up to him for a picture.  Hudson of course was terrified!  But, they did have a great time egg hunting with all their friends!

Showing off her Finds
The Easter fun continued when SueSue, BooBoo and the whole Halter clan made the trip up to Nashville for the weekend.  The girls were in heaven of course when the boys got here.  We had a pretty busy weekend full of fun.  We started with a fun dinner out at the Gersthaus - Tom's favorite restaurant full of German food and polka music.  We spent some time being tourists downtown and checking out the Riverfront Park playground, Broadway and all the other sights Nashville has to offer.  We also celebrated Tom's birthday with a great cook-out and some amazing mini-cheesecakes made by one of the girl's old teacher.
Cousins are the best
We also spent some time at the playground of course....
Playground fun
We had a wonderful Easter Sunday with an early church service followed by brunch at the Copper Kettle.  We were also treated to another amazing Egg hunt organized by PJ and he of course outdid himself yet again!
Easter Sunday
April also meant the start of spring soccer season.  Both girls are playing on the same team this year which has been really fun.  We have an awesome group of kids and everyone is doing really well.  Both girls have scored a goal so far which is so fun to see.

Per the norm, Nashville has had crazy weird weather.  Now that it is May, we have had highs in the 60s but in April, it was hot enough to run through the sprinklers and go swimming with friends.  I also love that all of my best friends have kiddos the same age as ours and we all live close enough to get together.  This crew is so sweet and had so much fun swimming at Yummy's house!
Swimming and Ice Cream
The girls and I have enjoyed some fun dinners out while Tom is on the road and I just couldn't resist this one.  Kid's night at Chic-Fil-A is the best here.  Full of balloon artists, face painting and sometimes live music.....hence the reason Sully felt the need to put on a beak and do the chicken dance!
Chicken beak and chicken dance
We ended the month with Hudson's PreK program at Judson Baptist - her other school.  We got to tour her classroom and see all of her artwork, etc.  Then all the kids did a big performance for the parents and we finished our time with a fun luncheon.  It was so much fun and she was so excited for us to be there!  Here is a little clip of her performance.

We are looking forward to a great May.  Soccer will be wrapping up in a few weeks and the pool is opening...all just in time for Baby Frericks 3.0 to make his/her arrival!

As always, here are the rest of the pictures from our past month of fun:

March 2015

Spring is off to a great start here in Nashville!  We love having some warmer weather and longer days so we can play outside.

The girls have had a great month so far, starting with enjoying Mills' birthday party and some fun themed days at school.
Western Day at School
We also love the warm weather b/c it means we can walk to the Ag Center and feed the fish, pet the police horses and stop at the fun playground.  We love doing this on the weekends!!!
Finally Spring
March also means that soccer season has started again!  This year both Hudson and Sully are playing together on the same team!  Sully is a little bit too young but we wanted them to have the chance to play together before Hudson has to move up and age group.  Practices have been going well and we are so lucky to have a super fun team!  Coaching our group is pretty easy considering they are 3/4 year olds!

We also enjoyed a quick trip to Knoxville to visit with my two best friends and all their kiddos.  Big Thanks to the Websters for hosting all of us...including 6 kids under the age of 5!!!!!  Chaos is not even the word, but I wouldn't have traded it for anything!
Fun trip to Knoxville
What a crazy crew
Two of my best friends in the world and all of our kiddos!  I hate that we live so far apart but I love how much our kids love each other even though they have only met a few times.
Best friends and sweet toddlers...
After our trip to Knoxville, we had one more soccer practice and then our first game!  Of course, as luck would have it, the high today barely got out of the 30's which makes playing soccer for 3/4 year olds very challenging, but our team rocked!

Hudson played so hard and loved every second.  Sully still needs some time to get used to it but I can say she touched the ball once....haha!
First Game of the Season

That is about all for now.  We are super excited to host ALL of the Halter's this coming weekend for Easter and can't wait to get all the cousins together again!

Here are some pictures from our fun March:

January and February 2015

2015 has been off to a fun but COLD start!  After settling back into normal live after Christmas and New Year's, we didn't have a lot going on.  Both girls were treated to their very first real hair cut and loved it.  We also treated both puppies to a spa day at the DIY Dog Wash place.  As you can see, they loved it too.
Clean Makers
Clean Mays
Tom and I celebrated our 6th Wedding Anniversary with a nice dinner out and Valentine's Day came and went.  The girls had parties at both schools and collected more Valentine's than any kid needs!

As the weather started to get colder, we finally put our outdoor fireplace to good use and had a night full of S'mores with friends.
Hudson and Caleb enjoying a s'more
Sunday night after Valentine's Day, with Tom heading out of town for important meetings, the first big Snow/Ice Storm struck Nashville.  And it was a good one.  We woke up Monday morning to a light dusting of snow....on top of a thick layer of ice.  Perfect for "sledding".  So with Tom gone, I had to enlist the help of our amazing neighbors to sled with my kiddos!  The storm lasted for 4 days and school was out ALL WEEK.  The girls loved it and we even got some actual snow on Day 3 which made for even more sledding and even some snowman building.  Here are some action shots of the week.
Caleb, Hudson and Miss Angela going down the big hill...

This one is a daredevil!
Thank goodness for good friends across the street
The girls even got to enjoy their very first sleepover.  Ava Grace came over this past weekend for a fun girls night!
PJs and Frozen to end the week
The weather is starting to get a little better but we still have some ice and snow on the ground.  We had 24 hours of rain also which means Nashville is just a slushy wet mess!

That is about all for now....hopefully it will only get warmer from here b/c we are ready for some dry outside play time!

Here are some videos of the sledding fun!

Sobe and Miss Angela were the first to go down the big sledding hill...she loved every second...so did Miss Angela!

Mr. Marty took Hudson down the big street on day one and then she insisted on going by herself.  Both the girls were in heaven!

That is about all I have for now.  As always, here are some more pictures of our past couple months!

Christmas 2014

We had another wonderful December and Christmas this year!  We got our tree the first week in December and had a great time decorating.  The girls were very into it this year.  Although Sobes dropped every ornament she touched, it was fun to see them helping so much.
The Tree is Finished
We also took our annual trip to Opryland as well.  We loved seeing all the lights, the huge Nativity scene and of course going through ICE.  The theme this year was the Night Before Christmas and the girls loved this huge tree made totally out of Ice.  Pretty cool.  We rounded out the night with dinner at Rain Forest Cafe and some play time on the indoor playscape.  Overall another great night that always helps us get into the Christmas spirit.
ICE at Opryland
We headed down to Atlanta to celebrate with the Halters the week before Christmas.  We started our trip with a cousin sleepover at SueSue's house followed by Breakfast with Santa at Capital City.  I love how much this crew loves each other and actually posed for a picture willingly.
Breakfast with Santa at Capital City
The boys were of course excited to see Santa and the girls were also excited but I was not convinced they would go through with it.
Love this Crew
As you can see...we had one brave soldier!  I think she was just in it for the Candy Cane...but whatever it takes.  Hudson was very upset she couldn't work up the courage to talk to him, so we promised she could try again in Nashville.
Santa Take 1...Sobes has no fear
We had a great time spending the week in Atlanta.  After a few days of work for Tom and myself, we got to enjoy some good family time.  We made homemade dog treats, pinecone bird feeders and gingerbread houses with SueSue, ate lunch with the Boys at Lovett, had a few cousin playdates and even rode the Pink Pig with the boys.
Making Gingerbread houses
We had our big Christmas meal and opened presents before we left also.  As always the girls had a blast being with the boys!
Christmas Dinner with Poppers
When we got home from Atlanta, we had a few days to prepare for Santa!  We made one more trip to see Santa and Hudson did awesome.  She walked right up, sat down, smiled for a picture and promptly told him she wanted a Barbie with a Barbie car.....and I guess he listened!
Santa Came!
Santa came to see both girls and brought some great stuff.  Including big girl scooters for both of them!
Big girl scooters for everyone
Although, I think the theme for Christmas this year was Frozen....we got several Frozen items including these super cute hats!
Elsa
Anna
We spent the rest of Christmas Day playing with our new gifts and then Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Kelly came down to open more presents and have Christmas dinner.  It was the perfect Christmas day for sure!
Santa Take 2....They did it!
We hope you and your families had as great a Christmas as we did and hope you have a very Happy 2015!

Thanksgiving

We had a great November and it was nice to have some down time after the craziness of October!

The girls both started gymnastics and are loving it.  They  also got to spend a weekend in Bowling Green with Grandpa and Moon - which they always love.

We headed to Atlanta for Thanksgiving and to celebrate Reedo's Sixth birthday!  As is always the case, it was so much fun and full of crazy cousin time!

I forgot my camera so I didn't get many pictures but I think this picture pretty much sums up what it is like when all five cousins get together!

We hope everyone had as great a Thanksgiving as we did!

Counting down to Christmas as usual so Happy Holidays to everyone!

Here are a few pictures from November:

October, Hudson Turns 4 and Halloween

October was a CRAZY month for us.  With festivals, birthdays and Halloween, we were on the go go go.

I will keep it short b/c the pictures pretty much tell the story but here are a few quick hits:

Hudson's soccer season wrapped up.  The Silver team rocked and I already miss coaching them!

Our neighborhood is the center of all things festival in the fall so we took full advantage.  We went to Fall in the Hall, Crievewood United Methodist Block Party and The Music and Molasses Festival.

We also visited Shuckles Corn Maze and pumpkin patch for a day of fun and pumpkin picking.

Both girls finished soccer and started gymnastics.  So far....they are loving it!

Of course, we celebrated Hudson's FOURTH birthday!  We had a Princess and Knight themed party at Dragon Park and I think it was a huge hit!

We even had a special guest!
There were a lot of kids, sword fights, tiaras, wands, a giant playground, face painting and of course cookie cake!

Hudson is growing up so fast!  She is now 43 inches tall (97%) and 43.6 lbs (91%).  But she is at such a fun age!

Halloween was of course a big deal this year!  The girls wanted to carve the pumpkin like a kitty-cat...so we did our best!  It turned out pretty good!

We also dressed as the cast of Frozen.  Introducing Queen Elsa, Princess Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, Sven and a snowflake!

Sadly it was 30 something degrees with winds over 20 mph, so we only trick-or-treated at one house.  But they had fun handing out the candy at our house!

This weekend we finally made it to the Humane Society to drop off everything Hudson collected at her party.  2 shopping carts full of supplies!  So proud of her!

I apologize in advance for all the pictures but like I said...we have had a busy month!  Big THANKS to Aunt Eileen for being the birthday party photographer!!!!
