Big girl bed, Birthdays and Easter....

Wow a lot has happened over the past month or so!  We have been crazy busy and I have so many new and exciting things to tell you all about.

First of all - I officially moved into my big girl bed!  I have been in it a few weeks now and the transition is going OK.  I have learned how to get out of it...but can't quite climb back into it...so I am still getting used to it.  I LOVE napping in it though, so I know night time sleep will get better in the next week or so...fingers crossed!

Enough room for me and Daddy to nap together
In addition to my big girl bed...I have started using the POTTY!  It's true.  I still wear diapers and don't go on the potty all the time but I use the potty a few times a day and feel like such a big girl!  I know it would help mommy a lot if I could be potty trained by the time my sister gets here but I am not sure that will happen...haha!

School is going well still!  I love my teachers and have so much fun when I am there!  Recently we had a Build your own Kite contest and Daddy helped me with mine.  We made a really simple kite out of plain computer paper and I decorated it and guess what?!?  I Won first place for the Best Flying Kite!  I guess simple can be best!
Breakfast with my classmates
We also had an Easter Egg Hunt at school.  Our teachers helped us make baskets and helped us practice hunting.  My whole class did such a good job and found way more eggs than the toddlers!
Very focused on finding the good eggs!
On top of school, I have started going to Gymboree once a week and I LOVE it!  It is so much fun.  All the climbing, sliding, jumping, parachuting, etc that I can handle!  I have had two classes so far and I can't wait till the next one!
Sliding at Gymboree
We celebrated Daddy's birthday last week which was really fun.  I helped him open his presents and we went out to eat which was fun.  Then Friday night we had a big cook out at the house and I got to meet so many new friends.  I played with Riley, Hollis, John Houston, Tennyson, Anne Barrett and then I met two sweet babies - Haddie and Mills.  We had so much fun!  Everyone was so nice and I can't wait to see them all again!
Hanging with Anne Barrett...she is going to be a big girl like me!
Daddy's birthday also happened to fall on Easter Weekend so after our fun filled cook-out, the next day I got to wake up and go to an Easter Egg hunt at Yummy's house (that is Mills' grandma).  I got to see Tennyson and Mills again and even met a new friend names Windsor.  She was a lot of fun.  I was very focused on egg hunting and even found the golden egg!  I had a lot of fun playing of course.  Then when I left there I got to go home and see Grandma and Grandpa Frericks.  They came to spend the night with us and celebrate Easter.  We had a fun night and a great Easter day going to church, dying eggs and eating a great meal.  Overall, it was a very exciting weekend!
Just checking out my eggs
Happy Easter!
Dying eggs!

I am learning more and more words every day and my vocabulary is getting so big.  I love calling Maysie and pretending to talk to SueSue, BooBoo and Maggie on the phone.  I can say my cousin's names and my teachers and classmates names too!  It is fun to learn new words by repeating after mommy and daddy.  I am also still loving to eat of course.  This past weekend alone I tried for the first time and loved fried calamari, lamb, pasta salad, hard boiled eggs and some Easter candy of course!  I am still big into fruit...especially grapes these days, but I will try just about anything!

Other than our full weekend of festivities, we went back to the doctor to check on my baby sister,  We got an ultrasound and I got to see a picture of my sister on the screen.  She looks just like me according to mommy.  We also found out that mommy is 31 weeks along but my sister is measuring between 33 and 34 weeks...so she could come as early as May 23 instead of June 6.  She already weighs about 5 lbs and she hasn't even gone through her big growth spurt which happens the last month they say!  So, we go back in two weeks and then again 2 weeks after that and will get another ultrasound to check her growth!  I am getting so excited to meet her!

31 Weeks...measuring almost 34 weeks

My Baby Sister...she looks just like me!
I guess that is all for now.  Here is a link to some new pics of our celebrations and fun times!

February and March Updates

Well we have had a pretty crazy past few months...where to start.  Mommy always says when "it rains, it pours" and that has been true for us.  We had a rough few weeks last month and this month.  All within a few weeks of each other we had to buy a new HVAC unit, I got a double ear infection, all three of us got the stomach flu and Daddy had nose surgery to fix his deviated septum....man did it "pour" on us!  But we made it through all of that and seem to be on the up and up thankfully.

So enough about the not fun stuff...here is a little update on the fun things we have done:

First of all, I have to give a shout-out to my new friend Mills Hailey Kopf.  She was born earlier this month and I got to go meet her in the hospital.  She is so cute and I can't wait until she gets a little older so we can play together.  I can already tell we are going to be buddies.

Making Valentine Cookies for my class
School is still going well for me.  I love my teacher Miss Sheri and have already learned to say her name.  I am getting very good at talking and can repeat just about any word.  Some new words I have added to my vocab are: Maysie, shoe, sock, snack, treat, Sheri, Ella, bird (anything in the sky is a bird - even a plane) and many more.  I have also learned a few new signs as well: different, gentle, Grandfather, Grandmother and Grandparents and help.  I am very good at communicating what I want/need which makes it so much easier on Mommy and Daddy.  I also really like to sit anywhere and pat the space next to me to ask you to sit with me.  Sometimes I pat it and say your name or I will pat and say "see" which means you should come sit next to me.

Sitting with Daddy at the Park
It seems that winter is over in Nashville as it has been 80 degrees here for the past few weeks so we have spent a lot of time at the park. I LOVE the park.  I especially like to swing and go down the slides - although I only go down feet first on my stomach...what a daredevil.  I also like to play with the "Big" kids at the park and in my neighborhood.  I have a bunch of new friends in the neighborhood - well they are all older than me but they are very sweet to me and let me watch them play basketball in the cul-de-sac.  I have also become good friends with Ava Grace and Caleb across the street. They let me jump on their mini-trampoline and play with all their push toys.  I am very big into riding my "bike" and pushing my baby stroller - or any stroller really.  I guess that is good so I can be a good big sister come June.

Just swinging
As you know I am going to be a big sister in June and I am very excited about it.  I love giving Mommy's belly kisses and I can even say "sister" - although I don't really know what that means.  A few weekends ago Mommy and Daddy took me shopping for big girl furniture.  I get to move to a big girl queen size bed in a few weeks so my little sister can have my crib.  I can't wait to have all that space since when I stretch out in my crib I take up just about the whole thing.  I guess that is what happens when you grow to 34 inches long at just 16 months!

Mommy wanted me to tell you that she had her 28 week check-up today and everything looks good so far.  The doctor said that her belly is measuring at 30 weeks so she is about 2 weeks too large!  But according to her doctor, Mommy is "prone to giant babies" (Literally the doctor said that...in front of me...I guess I should have been offended but oh well) so she is not that worried about it yet.  We go back in 3 weeks for an ultrasound check up which means I get to see more pictures of my sister!  I can't wait to see how big she is and find out exactly when I get to meet her in person!

18 Weeks
24 weeks
28 Weeks...but measuring 30 weeks...how will she last for another 12 weeks?
I guess that is all for now.  Next week Mommy and Daddy are going out of town for work trips and SueSue, BooBoo and Maggie are coming to keep me for four days!  I am so excited b/c I LOVE Maggie!  We are going to have a lot of fun I can already tell.  We also have a trip planned to Atlanta to watch my cousins play baseball and soccer and to celebrate SueSue's birthday which will be awesome.  We have to travel now b/c come May, Mommy isn't allowed to travel anymore since my sister will be arriving June 6.

See ya next time!
Here are some pictures of my adventures over the past couple months!

New Dance Moves

I just wanted to share some of Hudson's newest dance moves.  It is an interesting combo of Hip Hop, Break dancing old school and yoga....haha.  Whatever it is, it is pretty funny!

Check back next week for an update of our last few months, new pictures and of course the progress of Baby Frericks 2.0!  We will be 28 weeks and counting next week!!

My new sibling is a...

GIRL!!!

The duck in the pinata was PINK!
Well we finally know the big secret...I am going to have a little SISTER!  I am so excited!  We are going to be best friends, I just know it.  But let me tell you how we found out!

We were in Atlanta to celebrate mommy's birthday and we had a birthday pinata.  It was full of yummy candy and one tiny rubber duck...either pink or blue!  So after dinner and presents, my cousins, my friend Blake and I took turns pulling the strings until someone pulled the right one.  Well watch the video below to see all the action...

The Pinata before...

Luckily PJ was on top of things and found the PINK duck right away!  According to Auntie Leens and Aunt Cori's running commentary...everyone was guessing girl so I guess it was meant to be!
PJ found the duck...PINK!
Since I have grandparents who live in two different states...we did two different reveals.  This past weekend, Grandma and Grandpa Frericks came to visit for the day.  Mommy had wrapped up a bottle for each of them and one for Aunt Kelly.  The bottles were full of either pink or blue jelly beans!  They both guessed girl also so apparently everyone knew something I didn't!
What color jelly beans are in those bottles...
Of course they were full of PINK and white jelly beans!
Pink of course...
So now the news is out...I have a little sister on the way in June!  Poor daddy...that makes 5 girls in the house...Mommy, me, new sister AND Maysie and Makers...he is way outnumbered now!

To catch you up on my last month or so. As you can tell we took a trip to Atlanta.  Mommy and daddy both had to be there for work so we just made a long weekend of it and stayed to celebrate Mommy's birthday.  I made two new friends...Day and Blake.  Day is a lake friend so I can't wait to play and swim with her this summer.  Blake is my mommy's best friend's daughter and we are sure to be good buddies.  Mommy and Miss Cori keep saying we are going to be college roommates and teammates...whatever that means!  We got to spend the day together at the GA Aquarium and then she came to Mommy's birthday party.  It was so much fun.  We had a good time playing with SueSue's toys and eating cookie cake!

I loved the aquarium by the way.  I got to see the dolphin show (which put me right to sleep with the dark lighting and water sounds) but I really loved the sea otters....maybe not as much as SueSue, but I did like them!

School is still going great and I have a new teacher Miss Sheri.  She is so much fun and the other day she even helped me change all the dolls in the classroom's outfits.  I have really taken a liking to baby dolls which is a good thing since I am going to have to be Mommy's helper in a few months with my new sister.

I had my 15 month check up last week and it went great.  Dr. Triggs said I looked great and was just so much fun.  I got three shots which wasn't awesome but I took it like a champ and just needed a Nilla Wafer to get over the pain!  They took my measurements and I am STILL off the charts.  I weigh 28 lbs and 9 oz and I am 33.5 inches long!  No wonder I have to wear 2T pants at 15 months!

I still love climbing all over everything and still go 100 mph all day everyday according to mommy and daddy.  My vocabulary is getting so big and my sign language gets better everyday.  I can say all sorts of words and even learned how to say SueSue, BooBoo and Maggie (SueSue's little dog that I love).

Anyway, that is about all for now.  I will keep you posted on how Mommy and my baby sister are progressing along and will update soon!

Hudson wants you to know....

I am going to be a....
BIG SISTER!

That's right...Baby Frericks 2.0 will be arriving in early June 2012! We are all so excited and blessed to welcome a new Frericks to the family and can't wait for everyone to meet him or her.

We had our 20 week ultrasound today and everything looked great. Baby F was measuring right on track and was super active. He/She was moving, twisting, turning and basically hiding from the camera the whole time.

Here are a few pictures of the newest Frericks:

Baby foot....don't think it is as big as Hudson's was...YET!
I will keep everyone posted on how everything is progressing but we just wanted to share our very exciting news!

PJ was very excited to hear he will be having another cousin...Hudson just loves him...can you tell!

Christmas 2011

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!  I sure hope Santa was as good to you all as he was to me!  I had a full week long Christmas Celebration and it was a blast!

We headed to Atlanta the weekend before Christmas to celebrate with all the Halters.  We had a full few days.  One night we went to Atlantic Station to see all of their Christmas decorations and festivities!  It was so much fun.  They had a huge tree, and reindeer made out of lights and they even made it snow!  After we walked around and even rode on the Santa train...we all got hot chocolate and yummy desserts!  It was a very fun night!

It was chilly in Atlanta
A few days later, we celebrated our "Early Christmas Eve".  SueSue and MamMam made a big Christmas meal and afterward we got to open presents!  I got so many wonderful things from my cousins, Auntie Leens and Uncle Pace and SueSue, BooBoo and MamMam.  We had so much fun!  I even got to give out some presents and that was fun also.  Although I really enjoyed opening the most!
Glass of Christmas wine never hurt anyone right?
SueSue and BooBoo gave me my very own basketball hoop so I could start practicing my skills.  I can already dunk....no big deal.
Such an awesome gift from SueSue and BooBoo
Our last night in town, my cousins and Aunt and Uncle came over for a big pizza meal and we had so much fun playing.  We got to go down in the basement and play with BooBoo's golf clubs and balls and Reedo even let me ride his big wheel.  My cousins are the best!
Love my cousins
The Thursday before Christmas, we packed up all our new goodies and headed back to Nashville.  We had to get home and get ready for Santa to come!  Mommy and I had already wrapped all our presents so I decided to help her make cookies for Santa Claus.  I am a good helper, but I am an even better taste tester....I love chocolate chips!
Making cookies for Santa
On Christmas Eve we headed to church for the beautiful service they do.  They tell the story of Jesus' birth and even have people dress up to play each part.  I loved the music we got to sing, although we did have to go downstairs to the big room and watch it on the big screen since I wouldn't sit still in the pews upstairs!  I did get all dressed up for church though...can you tell how excited I am?
Merry Christmas
Can you believe that Santa came to visit me?!?!  Here is a short video of my very first Santa reaction!!!

He left me so many wonderful things.  I got a new ride on toy that makes noise and bounces, an elephant that shoots balls out of his trunk (it makes me laugh), an art easel, crayons, a new chair with my name on it, slippers and he even filled my stocking!
Santa came and it was awesome
Mommy, Daddy and I spent the morning opening our stockings and playing with our Santa gifts and then Daddy made a great pancake breakfast!  After breakfast we opened all our gifts from each other.  Mommy and Daddy and my sisters got me some wonderful things like my very own play laptop, a new soccer ball, clothes and other stuff.  It was so much fun to rip open the wrapping paper but I really loved pulling the tissue out of the bags!

That afternoon Grandma and Grandpa Frericks and Aunt Kelly came down and we got to do presents all over again!  I even got my own baby doll.  It makes noises and everything.  I loved pushing it around in MY new umbrella stroller - even though Mommy and Daddy had to exchange my stroller b/c the weight limit was only 35 lbs and I already weigh 30!  Luckily we found one with a 50 lb limit that should last me much longer!  After presents we had a delicious Christmas Dinner!  Overall - it was a wonderful day and I can't wait till Christmas next year!!!!!!
Christmas with Daddy
As always here are some pictures of Christmas...there are a lot of them so be prepared:

Thanksgiving and Almost Christmas....

Wow...it's been a while since my last post and we have done so much fun stuff.  To start off it is great being ONE!  I have had so much fun and I got to turn my car seat around to face forward...it's amazing everything I have been missing staring backwards this whole time!  Needless to say, I like riding in the car much more now that I can see where we are going!

After my awesome first birthday party, we kind of took it easy for a little while.  We have spent some fun weekends at home trying new things like play-dough, baking and coloring.  I LOVE the play dough containers...not so much the actual dough...but Daddy got very into it!  I love to color with my crayons also!
Fun with Play-Dough
I have also been trying lots of new foods.  Mommy and Daddy let me try some sweets for the first time and as you can see...I was loving the brownies!  I really like all food except carrots.  I absolutely will not eat them...at school I eat everything and leave those on my plate...even if they are mixed into something like a pot pie...my teachers say it is quite impressive how I can do it.  I have been officially weaned off the bottle for almost a month now (I did really well and it only took about two weeks).  I am on nothing but sippy cups and cups with straws and I like them.  They make me feel like such a big girl.  New foods that I have tried and really liked are: all kinds of beans, all rice, bar-b-que, green bean casserole, grapes, pineapple (really all fruit), cheese (even spicy horseradish flavor), scrambled eggs, pancakes, Uncle Pace's home-ade chicken fingers and I really LOVE peas!  Seriously, I eat them like candy!
I love brownies
Our first big adventure after my birthday was a visit to Bowling Green to visit Grandma and Grandpa Frericks.  We had a good time.  I got to play with them and Miss Pam and we even went to this big apple orchard!  I went down a huge slide with Mommy and got to run around.  They had two doggies that looked like Makers so I had fun petting them.

After that, we headed to Atlanta for Thanksgiving and Cousin Reed's third birthday party!  Thanksgiving was, as always, a blast.  I did a good job eating my Thanksgiving lunch (which was delicious thanks to SueSue and MamMam) and really had fun playing with my cousins.  After we ate, we went outside and rode big wheels and threw the football.  They are all so sweet to me and pushed me around on the big wheels since my legs weren't long enough and then even let me carry the football around too.  PJ let me help him draw with sidewalk chalk also!

The Saturday after Thanksgiving we headed over to Uncle Pace and Auntie Leens' house for football watching and a birthday party.  It was so fun to play in the backyard and swing on the swings.  I got to sit at the kids table instead of a high chair which made me feel so grown up.  We had a great meal (I cleaned my plate and then walked around the kids table and cleaned everyone else's plate...).  Reed got some great presents and overall it was a great day!
Reed's Third Birthday
When we got home from Atlanta, we had about a week of the "norm" and then we starting decorating for Christmas.  Mommy, Daddy and I went to the tree lot and picked out our tree.  It is mine and daddy's first Real tree so we are both very excited.  I think we got a very pretty one.  I was such a good helper putting ornaments on.  I made sure to be very gentle with all of them.
Decorating our tree
SueSue gave me my very own Elf on the Shelf so Daddy read me the story and we put our Elf out.  We didn't name him yet b/c I get to do that next year when I can talk a little better.  But I loved the story and everyday we make sure to find the Elf's new hiding place!  I think I have been a very good girl so hopefully he has all good reports back to Santa.
Daddy told me all about my Elf
As you can see our finished tree looks so beautiful.  I love pointing at it and saying "tree".
Our beautiful tree
Speaking of Santa....NOT A FAN!  We spent a few weeks talking about Santa, looking at pictures of him, etc, etc.  Well nobody told me I had to go sit in his lap!  As you can tell, I didn't love it!  I did however tell him bye-bye after it was all over and still love seeing his picture...just not sitting in his lap.
Someone save me...
This past weekend we started our new family tradition of going to Opryland, seeing the ICE exhibit and walking through the hotel to see the pretty lights.  The hotel was CRAZY crowded but I got to show off my walking skills and loved looking at all the lights they have up.  ICE was so fun!  Ok so it was 10 degrees in there but they gave us huge parkas and I loved seeing all the fun Madagascar characters made out of ice.  Afterward, I got to meet these two guys and I loved them.  I gave them both a hug and didn't want to leave...
These penguins were funny!
I think that is about all of our adventures.  Let's see what other updates I have:
- I graduated up the Transition class at school which is all 12-18 month olds.  I have a blast in there b/c we get to nap on mats and not cribs and we eat our meals in a chair at a table...instead of high chairs.  It's a lot of fun.
- I am a super speedy walker and hate to be carried these days.  I can even get up and down stairs by myself...although sometimes I climb the stairs when I am not supposed to...oh well.
- I can say so many words.  I still say "more" and "please" in sign language but I can also actually say: more, dog, see, no (which is always accompanied by a good head shake), ball, all done, down, mamma, dada, outside (which just sounds like 'side'), and some more.
- Mommy and Daddy say that I can understand so many words and know what to do with so many things like: I can pick my basketball out of a pile of balls, I like to try to put my socks and shoes on, I am very good at putting things "back where they go", I know what "hot" means, etc.
- I still love to dance!

I guess that is all for now.  Here are some fun pictures from the past month or so.  I guess the next time you hear from me it will be after Christmas, so I hope Santa is good to everyone!!
