A White Christmas

What a great first Christmas Hudson had this year. We first celebrated two weekends before with Grandma and Grandpa Frericks. We had a great meal and she received some awesome gifts! It was a fun night.

We followed that up with a trip to Atlanta to spend the week and celebrate Christmas with all the Halters...and what a crazy week it was.

It started with Hudson finally meeting her new best friend/future college roommate and teammate (of some sport...haha) - Blake Boyle. They had a great time getting to know each other as you can see below. It was quite funny that Blake is 6 months old and Hudson is 2 months old and they are more or less the same size...but hey every team needs a point gaurd and a center!

After meeting Blake we had a great girls lunch with Miss Cori, Blake and her Grandma, Aunt Rachael and her mom and SueSue. Rachael, Cori and I were all in each other's weddings and have known each other for years....so it was so special to get everyone together again! It was so fun to get all the girls together and catch up!

Then along came Christmas. It started with a party at my cousin Michael's house. We had great food and a fun visit. We had a great Christmas Eve meal with all the Halters and wow were her cousins excited for Santa. As you can see below Hudson was fired up for Santa also...

As it turns out, Hudson had been a very good girl and Santa found her all the way in Atlanta. She got some great presents and as you can see below...she loves them all. She can already sit in her Bumbo seat and can't wait till this summer to use her new life jacket at the lake. She and I also love her Baby Bjorn and can't wait to use it even more!

After we opened gifts at SueSue and BooBoo's house, we headed over to Pace and Eileen's house to continue the presents. Santa had been good to her cousins and we had a great day celebrating. On top of all the wonderful family time, Hudson's first Christmas turned out to be a white one! It was so exciting to have snow on Christmas!

Overall, we could not have asked for a better first Christmas! Great time with our wonderful families!

Two Months Old

Our little Huddy Bug is already two months old...it is so hard to believe. The time has flown by for sure.

We have had a great past week with many firsts and exciting things happening. Last Thursday Hudson started sleeping through the night and we are pumped. She usually puts eight to nine hours together but even on a bad night she goes for six hours. I can't but help to get up and make sure she is breathing a few times a night but we are loving the extra sleep for sure. She is also smiling and 'talking' up a storm. It is so fun to watch her discover new things everyday and have conversations witht them. She is also trying to roll from her back to her stomach...thankfully she has not been successful just yet!!

We had her two month check-up today and it went great except for the tears she shed after her five shots. I have never seen her cry real tears so it was so sad but she was a trooper for sure. They took her measurements again and get ready for this...

She weighs 12 lbs, 11 oz and is 24.5 inches long. She grew 2 inches in less than a month...insane. She is officially in the 95th percentile for weight and well..let's just say 'off the charts' for her height!! So it looks like we are going to have quite the tall girl for sure.

That is all for now. We are headed to Atlanta for Christmas with the Halters so that should make for some fun stories and pictures since we will be celebrating with a 7, 5, and 2 year old as well as a 2 month old.

Santa Claus is Coming to town...

Hudson turned seven weeks old today and we celebrated by going to see Santa for the first time.

She did great...well...she slept the whole time but I guess that is better than crying like some of the other kids there.

She wore her new smocked Santa dress and I have to admit it was pretty cute.

We go back to the doctor December 21 so be on the look out for more updates!

So much to be thankful for....

We have had a busy past few weeks and have done some serious travelling. We took Hudson on her first road trip to Bowling Green, KY for Thanksgiving and she did great. She slept the whole car ride - thankfully it is only an hour long. We had a great time visiting all of the Frericks and their friends. Hudson had a lot of visitors which was fun.

Too much turkey...

After our trip to Kentucky we headed to Atlanta to celebrate Cousin Reed's Second Birthday. Hudson did great on the car ride to Atlanta. She slept almost the whole way and then just enjoyed a bottle in her carseat with no crying (thank goodness). We had a great time in Atlanta seeing SueSue and BooBoo and also meeting Great Grandma MamMam, Uncle Pace, Aunt Eileen and cousins PJ, Charlie and Reed for the first time.

The boys just loved her and all took turns holding her and giving her a bottle. They were so sweet with her.

Hudson had some great visitors in Atlanta including a few of the famous "Pigs" and Crazy Aunt Patsy.

It is hard to believe Hudson is 6 weeks old now. We have not weighed her in a few weeks but she has to be well over 12 lbs now. She is still eating like crazy and has started putting 6 and 7 hours of sleep together which is nice! We are starting to work on getting onto a schedule and introducing her to her crib! We will see how that goes...haha.

One Month Old

Well it is so hard to believe that Hudson is One Month Old today. The time has flown by for sure!

She is thriving and doing great! We went in for our month check-up and she is growing like a weed. She now weighs 10 lbs, 8 oz and is 22.5 inches long. Not surprising but she is in the 90th percentile for weight and then 97th percentile for height! (Let's hope she likes sports otherwise she is going to make one BIG dancer...haha).

We are starting to get better at the whole sleeping at night thing although she will only sleep in her pack n' play on her STOMACH. So I spend most of the night waking up and making sure she is ok. Luckily she can already pretty much hold her head up so she is able to turn her head from side to side on her own which is comforting.

This week we are headed to Bowling Green for Thanksgiving. It will be our first road trip so fingers crossed she does well. She loves the car so hopefully the 45 min drive won't be too rough. Next week we are headed to Atlanta for Hudson's cousin Reed's 2nd Birthday...so that 3.5 hour drive might be interesting.

Three Weeks Old

Well it is hard to believe that Hudson is three weeks old already! It has been an incredible experience that is for sure.

We are working on getting into a schedule and especially getting a sleep pattern down...although I think we are a few weeks away from that one! She is doing really great though.

Not much to update really...she is enjoying her activity mat now that she stays awake for longer periods during the day and really loves being outside. We have been for a few longer walks and she likes to stroll...we just got the BOB jogging stroller set up yesterday so we will have to try that out this weekend (although just walking as I am not allowed to run just yet - and it is killing me).

We go back to the doctor next week for her 4 week check up so we will see how much weight she has gained!!!

Two Weeks Old...

Well it is hard to believe that Hudson is two weeks old today. The time has truly flown by! We are getting into the swing of things and working on getting a routine down. It is tough but we are figuring it out.

We have been to the doctor a few times and she looks great. The pediatrician told us she was just perfect....and almost boring (which I guess is a good thing...). She was back to birth weight as of last Wednesday so that was good news. We go back on November 17th for her next check up.

We don't have much exciting news since we rarely leave the house and just do a lot of nursing, diaper changing and sleeping. But Hudson has had a ton of visitors and has received so many wonderful gifts....we are so blessed to have such great friends and family.
